Today
A dull start in many areas with mist and fog patches. Overnight rain in Ulster will clear this morning and it will slowly brighten up across the country with some sunny spells, though coasts and hills in the East and South will stay misty. During the afternoon and evening showery rain will spread into the South and West with the risk of thunder. Mild with highest temperatures 13 to 16, and becoming breezy in the Southwest.

Tonight

Tonight will be mild with outbreaks of rain becoming more widespread. Mist and fog will affect the high ground and temperatures will fall no lower than around 6 to 9 degrees in a moderate to fresh Easterly breeze.



Tomorrow

Tomorrow will bring spells of rain, locally heavy with the risk of thunder. Mild and humid in a fresh to strong East to Southeast wind, easing in the Southwest.

Outlook

Rain will become confined to Ulster on Wednesday night and it will turn misty in many areas as the winds ease with some fog patches developing.

On Thursday, the rain in the Northeast will slowly clear. Elsewhere there will be a good deal of dry weather with some bright or sunny spells developing, though Western and Southwestern parts will have some showers. Mild, temperatures on Thursday will reach the mid-teens in the brighter areas with light winds.

Apart from some showers on Atlantic coasts, Thursday night will be dry with mist and fog patches forming and lowest temperatures of around 5 to 8 degrees.

Friday will be another mild day. It will brighten up with sunny spells and a few showers. Later in the day, rain will spread into the West and South and will become widespread and heavy on Friday night.

For the weekend it looks like it will become a little cooler and fresher. Blustery Southwest winds will bring in a mixture of sunshine and showers

Today
Today will be mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain, heavy at times. Drier conditions will develop over Munster during the afternoon and evening, with a few sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in a moderate east to southeast breeze.

Tonight

Becoming mainly dry over Munster and Connacht tonight, but staying mainly cloudy. Outbreaks of rain will continue over Leinster and Ulster and a few heavy bursts of rain are likely again. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees in light southeast winds.



Tomorrow

Rain will continue for a time in the east and north tomorrow. Drier and brighter weather in the west and south will slowly extend to all parts during the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees, but possibly 16 or 17 degrees in any prolonged sunshine. Light to moderate southeast winds will become southerly later.

Outlook

The last of the rain should clear the east and northeast early Thursday night and it will become mainly dry with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees.

Friday will be mainly dry, just a few showers, with sunny spells. Highest temperatures will be between 10 and 15 degrees. Later in the day, rain will spread into the southwest and will become widespread on Friday night.

It looks like it will become mainly dry on Saturday again with some sunshine, but rain is likely to develop on Saturday night with more rain to follow on Sunday. It will become breezy as well with fresh south to southwest winds. Afternoon temperatures will be in the low to mid teens during the weekend and the nights will continue mild.

Current indications are that it will become drier and brighter early next week with cool nights.

Mist and fog clearing this morning, giving way to a dry day in many areas, with bright or sunny spells, but some scattered showers will occur, most of them in Munster and Connacht. Overcast in the northeast, with more persistent rain at times, and a few patches of rain may develop also along parts of the east coast. Maximum temperatures 11 to 15 Celsius, with light southeasterly breezes.

Tonight

Tonight will be mainly dry, with clear spells, but some scattered showers will occur, mainly in southwest, west and northwest coastal areas. More persistent rain will continue in the northeast. Misty in many areas, with fog patches, in a light southwesterly or variable breezes. Minimum temperatures 4 to 8 Celsius.



Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Friday, will be a bright day in most areas, with sunny spells, but some scattered showers will occur, a few of them heavy. Cloud will increase gradually from the Atlantic, bringing more persistent rain to the southwest later. Maximum temperatures 11 to 14 Celsius, with light to moderate southwesterly winds, backing south to southeast and freshening later along western and southern coasts.

Outlook

Headline : Very changeable weather continuing. Relatively mild over the weekend, with rain at times. Turning cool from Sunday night onwards.

Friday night : Breezy and wet, with rain spreading from the southwest to all parts, accompanied by moderate to fresh south to southeast winds.

Saturday : Some dry, bright intervals developing, especially in the east and south, but mostly cloudy, with rain and drizzle in places, mainly in the southwest and west, but becoming widespread and heavy later Saturday and Saturday night. Max. on Saturday 11 to 15 Celsius, in a moderate south to southwest wind, increasing fresh to strong on Saturday night.

Monday : More rain will return to the south, the east and possibly parts of the midlands, heavy at times, but clearing later to scattered showers.. Further outlook : Early indications suggest that it will remain cool with a risk of some frost at night. Tuesday will be breezy, with fresh west to northwest winds and with a few scattered showers. Slacker winds for Wednesday and Thursday, with a good deal of dry weather.

Mild with afternoon highs of 12 to 15 degrees in a light or moderate southerly breeze, which will freshen later. Persistent and locally heavy rain will return to southwestern areas during the afternoon and will become widespread during the evening and early Saturday night.

Outlook

Headline: Unsettled weather with periods of rain will continue over the weekend and for Monday. It will be mild over the weekend, but turning cooler for next week and there are indications of drier weather developing through midweek.

Saturday night : Mild and misty on Saturday night with rain, persistent and heavy at times, along with some hill and coastal fog. Some spot flooding is possible in western areas. Close and humid, lowest temperatures of 9 or 10 C., in fresh and gusty southerly winds.

Sunday: Very wet to start on Sunday, but drier weather, will spread from the Atlantic during the morning, so that the afternoon and evening will be mostly dry and bright, with sunny spells. Top temperatures of 11 to 14 C. But more rain is set to spread up from the southwest later Sunday night.

Monday: There will be some further rain during Monday morning clearing to drier, brighter but showery conditions in the afternoon.

Tuesday to Thursday: The trend, as we head into midweek, is for a good deal of dry, bright weather, with sunny spells by day, but cloudy spells with possibly patchy rain in parts of the west and north at times. Temperature around normal and cool nights, with some mist and fog in places and with a risk of some grass frosts.

Rain in the east and southeast will gradually clear this morning. Sunny spells and scattered showers in the west will extend to all areas by early afternoon. Some will be heavy with a risk of thunder and hail. Cooler and fresher than recently with highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees and moderate to fresh, gusty west to southwest winds.

Tonight

Cold tonight with clear spells and scattered showers, a few heavy. Fresh and gusty westerly winds, will moderate later in the night. Lowest temperatures 2 to 4 C,, with some grass frost in places around dawn.



Tomorrow

Tuesday will be a bright, fresh day, with a mixture of sunny spells and cloudy periods. Some showers about, a few heavy, but some good dry spells also. Top temperatures 10 to 13 C.

Outlook

General : Temperatures will be around normal or slightly below for the rest of the week. Some rain or showers at times, but amounts should be lower than normal.

Tuesday Night : Cloudy, misty weather will affect west Ulster and parts of Connacht, with some light drizzle and rain at times. But the rest of the country should be drier, with occasional clear spells. Lowest temperatures 4 to 7 C.
Most places will be dry on Wednesday, with a mixture of sunny spells and cloudy periods. But some further patches of drizzle and mist will affect parts of west Ulster and north Connacht at times. Highs of 10 to 13 C., are expected, in moderate to fresh southwesterly breezes. A misty night, with lows of 5 to 7 C. Some further rain and drizzle in parts of Connacht and west Ulster, but mainly dry elsewhere.

The rain will become widespread during Thursday morning and early afternoon, but brighter more showery weather, with occasional sunny spells, will extend in from the Atlantic during the evening. A fresh, rather cool day, highs of 9 to 12 C., are expected, in fresh and gusty westerly winds. Cool overnight, with clear spells and scattered showers. Lows of 1 to 5 C., are expected, with some grass frost in places.

Friday may well hold out dry and bright, but there are signs that rain may move in off the Atlantic late in the day or overnight. The weekend will be cool and breezy with further rain or showers at times.

There will be more showers today but they will be lighter and once again there will be some sunny spells too. Any showers will tend to die away towards the evening. Feeling a little fresher with temperatures ranging from 10 to 12 degrees in moderate to fresh westerly winds.

Tonight

For much of the country it will be dry tonight, but along the north coast some light rain and drizzle will develop overnight. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees but in the south of the country it will be cooler with lows of 2 to 5 degrees. Winds will be southerly and light to moderate in strength.



Tomorrow

Wednesday will be a generally dry day, but light rain and drizzle will continue to affect northern areas. Elsewhere it will be drier with some sunny spells, although there will be a good deal of cloud. Highs of 11 to 13 degrees in moderate southwest breezes.

Outlook

Wednesday night will be largely dry although in the northwest a band of rain will start to move inland. Lows of 3 to 7 degrees overnight in moderate southwest winds.

The rain will slowly spread southeastwards on Thursday, but southern areas may stay dry until later in the day. Cooler in northern areas in the moderate northwest winds. Highs of 9 to 14 degrees. The rain will clear away during the evening to give a dry, clear night. Cold with lows of 0 to +3 degrees.

High pressure will start to build over the country on Friday and apart from a sprinkling of light showers in northern areas it will be dry. Temperatures will range from 9 to 12 degrees in light breezes.

The anticyclonic conditions look like staying in place over the weekend. There will be some light rain and cloudy skies on Saturday but Sunday will be fairly dry. Temperatures will be in the range of 9 to 13 degrees during the day while at night they will fall to the low single figures in the clearing skies.

Tonight will be dry over much of the country. However, rain and drizzle will develop in the northwest early in the night and spread over much of Connacht and Ulster by morning. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees, coldest in Munster and south Leinster.



Tomorrow

Thursday will be mostly cloudy. Rain and drizzle will spread slowly southeastwards over Leinster and Munster through the morning and afternoon, becoming light and patchy further south. Sunny spells and one or two isolated showers will follow from the northwest. Highest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees with moderate southwest breezes, later becoming west to northwest

Outlook

Thursday night will be cold and dry with clear spells. There will be a sharp frost with a risk of icy patches on untreated roads. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +2 degrees.

Friday will be dry and bright with sunny spells and mostly light west to southwest breezes. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees. Friday night will be mainly dry. However it will become breezy and mostly cloudy overnight with rain developing on the northwest coast by Saturday morning. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees.

Saturday will be mostly cloudy. The rain in the northwest will spread southeastwards through the morning and early afternoon. Brighter weather and a few showers will follow during the afternoon and early evening. Highest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees, warmest in the southeast. On Saturday night, frost will develop in places, mainly over the southern half of the country.

Sunday will be mainly dry with a mix of cloud and sunny spells. The best of the sunshine will be in the south. There may be one or two showers near northwest and north coasts and more persistent rain or drizzle here on Sunday night. Highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.

Monday and Tuesday next will be dry with sunny spells and light winds as high pressure dominates over Ireland. Temperatures will range from 11 to 15 degrees by day. However the nights will be cold with frost in many areas.

A band of rain across Connacht and Ulster will extend slowly southwards today. Bright and mainly dry conditions following from the northwest will reach all areas by this evening. Light to moderate, southwest winds will veer west to northwest as the day goes on. Highest temperatures 11 to 14 degrees Celsius, mildest in the southeast.

Tonight

Dry with clear periods and slack winds tonight. Fog patches forming, some dense in the midlands. Lowest temperatures 0 to 4 degrees Celsius, giving slight to sharp grass frost widely.



Tomorrow

Dry on Friday with a mixture of sunshine and cloud. Light, variable winds will become southwest and increase moderate to fresh later. Highest temperatures 10 to 13 degrees Celsius.

Outlook

Friday night will start dry with clear spells but cloud will increase and a little rain will reach northwest and west coasts around dawn. Rain will soon spread to all parts of Ulster and Connacht on Saturday morning. The rain will then move on to affect Leinster and Munster in the afternoon, while Ulster and Connacht become dry and bright at the same time. Early in the evening, any remaining rain will have cleared southeastern areas and the day will end dry and bright generally. Moderate, southwest winds will veer west to northwest during the day and temperatures will be near normal. Saturday night will continue dry with clear periods but it will turn colder, with ground frost developing and some fog patches forming.

Sunday will be dry and bright for the most part but cloudier conditions, with occasional rain, will develop in many places in the evening; winds will be mostly light or moderate, westerly but it will be a little cooler than normal. Further outbreaks of rain will occur in many areas on Sunday night together with fresh and gusty, northwesterly winds. However, it is likely to become dry on Monday morning with winds easing, although a lot of cloud may remain.

Going in to the middle of next week, there is a good deal of uncertainty in the outlook. However, the most likely scenario is one that will be cold, windy and changeable with rain or showers affecting all areas

Tonight will be dry, apart from a few light showers in the far North. Rather cloudy with clear spells developing and some mist and fog patches as the winds ease. Turning cold with lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees and a touch of grass frost in places.



Tomorrow

Tomorrow will be dry with mist, low cloud and fog lifting to give some bright or sunny intervals. Very little wind and highest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees.

Outlook

Monday night will be dry and calm. A good deal of cloud is likely but some clear spells also leading to mist and fog patches forming, becoming dense in places. It will be cold also, with the risk of some grass frost in Southern areas.

Tuesday will be a dry day with sunny spells. Moderate South to Southeast breezes will develop becoming blustery along the West and Southwest coast. It will become milder with highest temperatures 12 to 16 degrees, the highest values in the Midlands, Mid-west and Northwest of the country.

On Wednesday, after a dry start with some sunshine, cloud will increase from the Northwest bringing outbreaks of rain and drizzle to Ulster, Connacht and West Munster, spreading to remaining parts of the country during the evening and early night. It will still be a mild day with temperatures in the low to mid-teens.

Thursday looks likely being a cooler day with moderate to fresh Northwest winds. A mixture of sunshine and scattered showers is expected with the showers, mostly affecting Northern and Northwestern areas.

Thursday night will be mainly dry and cold with mist and fog patches setting in as the winds ease. Temperatures will fall close to freezing giving some ground frost.

Good Friday looks mainly dry and rather cool with some bright or sunny intervals, though some rain may develop in Northwestern coastal areas later in the day.

Today will be dry with good spells of sunshine. Winds will be light variable or northerly in direction and temperatures will reach between 12 and 14 degrees.

Tonight

It will continue dry tonight with just a few mist pockets forming under clear skies. Winds will become light easterly and temperatures will fall to between 2 and 4 degrees, leading to a slight grass frost in places.



Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Tuesday, will continue dry with sunshine. A southerly wind will pick up however, becoming fresh by afternoon. Temperatures will reach between 15 and 17 degrees during the afternoon, with the warmest conditions in the west and in the midlands, it will feel cooler at the coasts due to the breeze off the sea.

Outlook

Tuesday night will be dry again and winds will ease off, becoming light southerly. Temperatures will fall under clear skies to between 3 and 6 degrees and again a slight frost may from on the grass.

On Wednesday, after a dry start with some sunshine, cloud will increase from the northwest bringing outbreaks of rain and drizzle to coasts of Ulster and Connacht by the end of the morning. The rain will extend inland as the day goes on but most other areas will have a largely dry day. It will still be a mild day with temperatures between 12 and 15 degrees with light southerly winds increasing moderate and veering southwest later in the day.

Thursday looks likely being just slightly cooler with moderate west to northwest winds. A mixture of sunshine and scattered showers is expected with the showers mostly affecting northern and northwestern areas, and the winds will ease off later in the day.

Good Friday looks mainly dry with some bright or sunny intervals as pressure begins to build again. Winds light variable and temperatures around normal for the time of year, although cold overnight with a risk of a slight grass frost again.

The further outlook in to the weekend of the Easter bank holiday is for light winds and temperatures between 12 and 15 degrees, there looks like being mostly dry conditions, although there may be a spell of rain between Sunday and Monday

Another fine, dry day in store.

After a cold start with some frost it will become mild today with temperatures rising to between 13 and 17 degrees Celsius.
Good drying in moderate locally fresh southeasterly winds.

Tonight

Dry tonight with clear spells.
Not as cold as recent nights with minimum temperatures 3 to 7 degrees.



Tomorrow

Wednesday:
Over Connacht & Ulster after a fine start it will cloud over and outbreaks of rain will move in from the Atlantic. Rather cool with temperatures here of 11 or 12 degrees in fresh southerly winds.
Leinster & Munster will have a sunny morning then cloud will increase through the afternoon and evening eventually bringing patchy drizzle but overall a mainly dry day here. A mild day with maximum temperatures of 13 and 16 degrees in moderate southerly breezes.

Outlook

Wednesday night: Mild and cloudy Wednesday night with patchy rain and temperatures not falling below 5 to 8 degrees.

Thursday: A fresh, breezy day with sunny spells and a scattering of showers. The showers will be most frequent and some will be heavy over parts of Connacht and Ulster but just isolated showers and mostly dry conditions over Leinster and Munster with some good sunny spells.
Rather cool with highest temperatures 10 to 13 degrees in moderate to fresh west to northwest winds.

Good Friday: A dry, fine day with sunny spells as high pressure begins to build again. Light breezes and temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees (feeling cool in the shade).

Chilly Thursday & Friday nights with air temperatures falling to around zero inland leading to a grass frost in places.

Holy Saturday & Easter Sunday: Mainly dry, fine days with sunny spells. Highest temperatures 12 to 15 degrees in moderate, locally fresh, mainly easterly winds.

West and northwest counties will be mostly cloudy today with some outbreaks of rain, but longer drier spells likely too, with the chance of a few brief sunny spells. Elsewhere (midlands, Munster and Leinster) it will stay dry for much of the day with a mix of cloud and good sunny spells, and still feeling very mild. Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees Celsius (warmest across the midlands), in moderate southerly breezes. Temperatures will tend to be coolest in the northwest with nearby frontal cloud and rain, and across parts of the south coast due to onshore breezes.

Tonight

Rain and drizzle across Atlantic counties early on tonight, will sink southeastwards, fragmenting as it does so. Many southern and eastern counties seeing very small amounts, if any. Mostly cloudy to begin, with broken cloud later. Lowest temperatures 4 to 8 degrees Celsius, in a light to moderate westerly breeze, fresher towards morning.



Tomorrow

Tomorrow Thursday will be dry day across much of the country with good sunny spells. A few showers too, mainly affecting the northwest, but a few passing showers possible elsewhere too. Still very mild in some southern areas, with highest afternoon temperatures ranging 11 to 15 degrees Celsius. This time values will be highest across Cork, Waterford and Wexford, coolest near west, northwest and southwest fringes with onshore breezes though. Staying dry, bright and fairly pleasant across most regions until later this Easter weekend, at which stage there is the possibility that low pressure over Britain may feed up an associated weather front Temperatures will be cool at times along east and south counties, but close to normal elsewhere.

THURSDAY NIGHT: A cold night with long clear spells and a widespread grass frost. Lowest temperatures 1 to 3 degrees Celsius with light northerly breezes.

FRIDAY: A chilly start but with good sunshine, and holding dry for the day with further spells of spring sunshine. Highest temperatures 11 to 14 degrees Celsius, mildest in the west, and coolest in the east and southeast with onshore breezes. Easterly breezes will be just light.

SATURDAY: Another chilly start with grass frost to begin. Apart from isolated light showers, the day will be dry with good spells of sunshine. Again feeling cool across eastern and southern counties with onshore winds, which will be moderate in strength. Elsewhere (the midlands, west and northwest) feeling milder with lighter breezes. Highest temperatures 11 to 14 degrees Celsius.

EASTER SUNDAY: Likely to stay dry for the day with moderate northerly breezes. Some good sunny spells through the day, but cloud will increase over Leinster later, with the threat of rain during the evening hours. Highest temperatures 11 to 15 degrees Celsius, coolest across northern counties with onshore breezes.

MONDAY: A fine morning generally but mixed weather likely to follow later. Somewhat cloudier than recent days with some scattered outbreaks of rain. However much of the western half of the country may see very small amounts if any, with brightest conditions here. Highest temperatures 10 to 14 degrees Celsius, with moderate northerly breezes
