I am wondering how the country has faired out with the washout met eireann has given. From looking at the rainfall radar on their website this morning it looks as if cork, tipperary and generally the east of the country got some very heavy showers. Limerick and the west looks to have escaped the worst of it.

How have ye got on around the country?

We escaped it here anyway in my part of Limerick .

Lot of very heavy showers early morning here and more on the way, can't see any silage work before Thursday at the soonest.

Very heavy showers last night and all this morning in Waterford and Kilkenny. One particular one around 9 o'clock was a deluge. The ground has gotten very soft again, we split and moved bullocks yesterday which were heavily stocked to hopefully stop them from reddening the place they're in.

Fierce rain in the bustling metropolis of North Laois last night, was meant to be at silage on the side of the mountain today, think we may leave that job for a while now. Next job is next a Bog

Machinery to dairy farmers is like razor blades to toddlers.

Anyone use accuweather? I have the app on my phone and find it to be pretty good, never too far off even the long range forecast

I use accuweather app up here in Louth, sometimes spot on sometimes not! Forecasting weather is a difficult sport! I sometimes check Irish Weather On-line, its a Facebook page, just gives a general overview of the country but I find it useful.

Anyone use accuweather? I have the app on my phone and find it to be pretty good, never too far off even the long range forecast

Use it all the time. Find it great in the spring and fall of the year when deciding what fields to put cattle in or whether to let them out of the shed for a few hours. The hourly forecast gives the likelyhood in % of rain in any given hour. If the % is below 25% i let them out. Also it gives wind speed and importantly direction from which they get a field with shelter for the wind direction given.

Met Eireann is nowhere as good as this crowd. IMO.
