jf 850' s pics

A neighbor of mine had a combine the same as that green self propelled. I think it was an Aktiv but he used to say it was a Volvo. God it was painfully slow he used to spend the whole harvest cutting about forty acres. Thats the first one I have seen since back then.

There were Volvo And Activ combines made , but the green combine in my picture is a Lanz . There was a similar combine parked beside it , but it left shortly before i took the.photo .. It was yellow . I think the yellow were the older ones , and they went green after John Deere buying out Lanz . I remember our local digger man's father having a similar pair cutting small bits on hire up to 1972 or 3.
I am fairly sure that the combine in my picture belongs to a club member , Jim Kelly , who is in a picture directing out 2 Lanz tractors onto the road . He definitely owns the Activ trailed combine in the 2nd picture .

The Aktiv ST257?? Looks very similar to the Lanz which is probably where Mid Cork is coming from.

I have a few original Irish brochures for them which I may have posted on here before or else I'll do so again at some stage.

They were imported by IAM.

You might well be right, one thing I remember about the one that the neighbor had was it had a bracket attached to a bearing on the outside of the wheel hub supporting the ladder. I don’t see that on the one @jf 850 posted. Other wise it looks very similar.

That's the one alright!

A bit of a his and hers day..
We were heading for Wexico , and pulled into the filling station next To @gone wild flowers . I "discovered" that Ardattin Vintage was on . And that it was only.5 or 10 minutes out the road . I met 6 people from within 5 miles of me , all exhibiting stuff . A great day . Bought a SH Carver clamp for €25 . Good value I thought . Same man was selling Rotobroach cutters a 70c a mm. New and packaged .

The nicest 7610 SQ 4 wd I have ever seen :tt1:
A Porche/Algaier tractor theme. Lots of autojumble. MF 30 for Nash.

Afraid not Nash. That's them all bar a Kenworth truck. It's not the dealers sticker on the IHs bonnet . Owners.
A man between @diesel power and myself spread lime in the 70s and 80s still has a loader like that parked in his yard . In its sins though , and it's 4 wd axle packed up during 85 or 86 silage campaign . He replaced it with a 1000 x 20 lorry axle ...
Obviously it was as useful as a hippo on a pit after that .

The owner of the last outfit is a friend of mine, well really, his wife is my sister's best friend.
I might be able more pics of it later in the year?

I actually thought It was our old baler hence the question!

Chanced going to Moynalty yesterday. Dry and even sunny some of the time . Ground tacky in places and ponds of water in more spots.
Good crowd considering the effect the previous couple of days rain . Tractor display was well back , as there was a big flood where they would be usually . River burst out where the music stage is , and portaloos turned over there. So the stage was a Curtain sider to one side. Car park where some of the campers were parked was like the Battle of the Somme. Here's some pics.
