Loading ration onto a ship at Kennedy quay in Cork city this morning. 2500 bulls being loaded in the morning and all off to Libya.
In the good old days of Export refunds they would buy loads of mouldy hay and shag most of it into the Mediterranean on the way out . Another time some exporter did the three card trick on the department until some official decided to fly out to count the cattle unloading in Bengazhi . The excuse for the difference between the number loaded and unloaded was the ventilation broke down on the ship and the dead cattle were buried at sea having drawn the export subsidy .

Are your blower hoses going up the ship and under the rail? was it hard on the blowers?

Going up the side through wavin pipes, you can see the pipes in the photo. Yeah was hard on the blowers, took over an hour with each load. We came all the way from Portlaoise mill to Cork with the ration and there was a feed mill 50 yards from the ship.

How long would a load of nuts normally take to blow? The blowers I use are old and take longer to blow meal.
Make you wonder alright when a place is so close and then talk about carbon footprint :rolleyes2:

We blew grain down wavin pipes and there was ferocious static electricity lepping around .

@Bog Man There were a couple load of hay there too, quality was very good. I kept away when they started loading in case I got a job.

Are they piching them on to a net on the ground and then reloading them?

Used to be a common sight around here to see rigids going with square bales for the boat and not unusual to see a lobsided load either!

Glanbia must be selling it cheap to win the bid with their transport costs being what they would be vs local competition

€10t would easily cover transport as they were surely loading out of the port heading back up the road. Glanbia have many different prices for the same product, usually with the same costs aswell
