fiat done 15000 . Is a tractor hour the same as a hour in time ?? i had a bloke here who told me he hires a 200hp tractor for 13£ per clock hour i asked him was the clock hour differant to a hour on my watch he said oh yes then changed the subject so i was left :confused1::confused1: can anyone explain what the fek he was on about ??/
I understand that the clock hour on a tractor with an electric meter is a clock hour, thinking about it they do tick by the same as my watch. In the olden days, the mechanical meters would register an hour at about 1800 revs and would register an hour slower if the engine was running slower and faster is the engine was running faster.
But is it how the hours go on that matters.
I saw a E reg Ford 7810 with over 9k on the clock, I said the driver that it was tidy for the hours. He then went on to tell me that it was it's second trip around the clock and the clock had also stopped and he reckoned there was another 2k to add to it.
I seen 12500 on a John deere the other day
I would have to agree with the older system was better as it seems to take more into account the true workload of a machine.
Ford's generally equal 1 tractor hour equals one "time" hour @1800 rpm.
TM - I wonder how many hours were on the old DX 90 the relations traded :)
Has to be a mistake!
big depreciators eh ! you would have to be mad to buy a new one of them !
