I was talking to a buddy farming near ballnaspittle only a few miles from me and he's close to 2 weeks away we always seem a week ahead themand I thought we were at least ten days off if not a fortnight.

The field is between Stradbally and Portlaoise, North of the Rock, cannot be seen from the main road and scarcely visible from the side roads. The rain forecast will probably drive it to the ground.Wheres that flattened field? A couple of weeks ago I seen a field the Carlow side of Stradbally near the graveyard that had been nearly rolled, sad sight.

Picking out soft thistles in it this evening, the heavy rain didn't do it much good. It's breaking down a lot more than I'd like to see at this stage. It didn't get PGR I'm nearly sure and will check fields which did get it tomorrow to check.
Meanwhile It's neighbour is not nearly as advanced probably due to dung.

I found quite a lot of this when picking the thistles too...:confused3:

Have a few bits shook up in mine under trees but thankfully the rest is standing ok so far. 2 doses of Moddus seem to have kept the height out of it and put a bit of lead in the stems.Barley after getting a fair tossing here. There’s a fair chance it mightn’t be cut in August from what I can see.
Have a couple of fields that got Terpal and a couple that didn’t. Terpal should stand to it (pardon the pun).
Looks like fusarium. Any blackening on this roots? Spring barley can get take all but it would be rare.
Tbf not yetIs it badly broken down Headcase? Most of ours is gone down or heading that way
Finished the spring barley today hopefully get it baled up as well today 10ac gangway 3.5t/ac at 19 to 21% moisture 66kph
Yeah very happy with it even with the green grains it was still good seemed to have some late short heads mixed into the crop you'd only see then when looking closeGreat result. Good quality - 66kph would be a very good bushel at 19-21%.
Lovely combine, Savage KPH too.Gangway getting the chop literally. I said I'd better support the straw market.Becide the road and tomorrow is mart day should set a few talking. This would be a worn field which never gets any organics so this is the year to chop. First load 18% 69 kph.
