How would you define a “springing cow”

right when a lad says a cow is springing what would you take that to mean, I heard 2 lads define it differently

Around here it means that she is getting close to calfing and her udder is swelling up.
Ya that’s what I would have said but another lad describes it as the back end loosening up “springing” as she walks

We call it uddering up round here, and the if the back end is getting loose it's known as pitched away, , the auld boys used to say she's "altered" !!
Trouble is with older sucklers some of ours will udder up over night !!

That's true and heifers will start a fortnight off.

Bagging up and springing here mean the same thing obviously. We say the bones are down when the pelvis opens up and the ligaments drop.
