Mart with them Tinny, they are still costing you money on straw and silage and other feed. If you have to wait till May for grass, it will be hard to see how you will get them to flesh out.

Tim, milk on till end of March and then sell at mart? Keep feeding as well to put a bit of flesh on them and they may suit for summer grazing?

ABP agent chasing hex and aax steers and heifers but pulling the plug at €2/kg

quoted €3.20 flat for Fr cows, for next monday
looked for free haulage , he's to get back to me

Some prices in southwest today fr cull cows milked until chistmas with backbone up

sim fat cow 750 kg calving to wh in march 1100 euro
weak aa 1yo heifers 230kg 550 euro
Definitely an improvement of last year end but marts almost empty
 
Was in the mart on Saturday too myself.

Bit more activity. Anything non FR steers around the 1.90/kg mark to 2.10/kg.

Numbers scarce enough still, calves starting to make an appearance too.

Not positive but from what I gather in around 3weeks. Any shapely or we'll done br fr calf usually gets on well up there. There's the shippers for the poor ones and a lot of lads around the catchment who rear them
