Anyone any calved yet? 12 calved here so far. 1 set of twins. All good so far

34 calved here. Busy

Getting to halfway. Busy not the word. At it 2 weeks now. Losses very low so far. Feeding every calf beestings straight away seems to work. Got an auto calf feeder which is the best thing ever in the place. Tank cows out every day and some nights. Dump cows out by day.

Number 10 just after arriving now. Tomorrow is the planned start date. They seem to come earlier every year.
Off to sort this lad now..

Don't do AI, must be energetic bulls

have often heard that the ratio is much better when using bulls, remember oliver mcdonnell got his p45 in the independent for ranting about it and the ai companies (ie advertisers ) weren,t pleased

I'm just lazy, don't see the point starting into AI the minute you're finished calving and feeding calves. Plus the bulls do the job first time most of the time.
