Have one like the very happy wit it
Have a less sophisticated one than that and love it. Mine will hold a bit more than that one too. It's great you load it up and then chop chop chop down through the pile. if you have help on hand u can move the stand around and have them picking up what you cut. get through some amount of timber that would otherwise have gone on the burn pile probably.
I haven't seen any galvanised versions of that design advertised, do you mind me asking where you got it @fiatagri10090dt .The plastic coated bars are a good idea also.
This one is galvanised but possibly not as good a design & no extendable stabiliser bars on the ground https://www.donedeal.ie/farmtools-for-sale/sawhorse-log-holder-nation-wide-delivery/15985002
Bought it Sheridan s of arva @175 Tommy Shannon make s them he sell to dealers all over
i,ve a timber croc and i,m very happy with it, only one lenght at a time but no chains to fasten every time
Is this the right Tommy ? https://www.yelp.ie/biz/tommy-shannon-scrap-dealers-cavan
If so I'll give him a ring & see if he supplies anyone local, if not I'll probably go for one of the painted versions.
Yeah that him. He sold yard a few. Year ago if u ring that number Gerry will give u his mobile number
This got delivered yesterday, looks a great job
Thanks for the info @fiatagri10090dt
I'm looking for recommendations on which chainsaw to buy for knocking and ringing large trees in or around 5-6 feet diameter.
Stihl 880 ,I saw a tree removal contractor using one recently with a 32" bar. A beast of a thing.
Either the 880 mentioned or a huskqvarna 120 are the only choice really I think.
Hard got s/h too and be cautious if you do find one.if your trees are that big you want a 48" bar.
Cutting stuff that size is tough work
The log holder got it's first trial today, it's a great job
Not sure where to post this, here or in the Special Offers On Tools thread in The Workshop section.
Anyway this might be of interest to some, I'm considering it, anyone got similar ?
HUSQVARNA PROTECTIVE KIT €139.00 reduced from €157 & free postage for the non locals
I picked up this today, still a couple left in store.
Very decent! The chaps must be near worth that on their own?
Yes the Chaps are €125, Gloves €50 & Helmet €50 if bought separately, great price for all 3.

It has to be about fifty years ago. I think it was a Homelite owned by a neighbour.
Lovely grain in that tree
I picked up a pair of Husqvarna safety boots today https://www.atkins.ie/garden-machinery/safety/safety-boots/husqvarna-safety-boots.html Not cheap but they should last me a lifetime.
Also a pair of safety goggles https://www.atkins.ie/garden-machinery/safety/face-protection/husqvarna-protective-goggles.html
I'm sick of sawdust in the eyes !
Anyone got a big Stihl for sale084,088 or 090
A worn one will do
I have a pair of those and never wear them. They are the most uncomfortable boot. For chainsaw work, I prefer something that my feet can breath in.
