Classic Tractor this month

Is the coaster laid on Classic Tractor Donegal Boy!

Only had a quick flick, plenty of terracotta porn!

But the real star has to be the condition of the DB and MF50B in the auction previewed on the first few pages :eek3:

Those tractors in that sale are superb Nasher.

Must pick it up later Nasher.

Just picked up this thread. Apologies to our Irish subscribers who received their April 2018 cover date copies later than normal. Due to a problem at the mailing house they were later heading out, and then the postal service on both sides of the Irish Sea had to contend with the Beast from the East, hence some really late deliveries. But it does make you wonder where they sit sometimes because 99% of the time they are despatched on time in the UK. Thanks for your patience.

Moving on, there has been talk of the Fiat 90 Series. The May 2018 issue of Classic Tractor really is the big one - THE ONLY ONE - if you like this series of tractors. It is almost wall-to-wall 110-90, 160-90s, etc. In the shops on either Thursday or Friday this week.

Let us know what you think.

R Day, Editor

I'm a big fan of your publication first off. Anyway, I am a pedantic enough person and can't avoid pointing out that May is still 5 weeks away on the calendar. :fight:

Good point, fair point, but just think in five weeks time it will still feel like the new issue.:whistle:

JF850, I'm sure he didn't mean any offence. Ronan has done a fine job of putting a smile back on Ursula's face. RDay

I know he didn't mean any offence .

I was delighted when Ronan contacted me by pm on the forum , and eventually bought The Bear , as the previous to me owner called it.
He has transformed it , and gets use and enjoyment from it.
Certainly much better than it going back on a boat to its homeland.

It's a credit to ya Ronan. What I wouldn't give to have half your ability with machines.

The previous owner before jf would be chuffed to see those pics. No doubt jf will show them to him over a feed of spuds when he's doing the hedgecutting.

Our own @ZetorMan98 features in the current Classic Tractor , with Ursula , late of this parish.

I am hurt at your comment , about buying it in an unloved state. :rolleyes2:Much loved , but definitely somewhat neglected.
It's unrecognizable from what left my yard. Well done , Ronan. A credit to you.

Cheers @jf 850. Unloved was a poor choice of words looking back :oops2: She has a lot of work done to her since and still hundreds of other things that I’d love to do. I haven’t been on here much down to a pure lack of time over the last few months and will hopefully get my own thread back up and running soon and try to fill ye in with some of the many, many, many of the projects and jobs that have been going on around the place, the latest only being in the last week and involving ripping a gearbox out of a certain Ursus over a torque pump that stopped working way back in July

Cheers @Mf240. With machinery at home it has always really been a case of “its f**ked anyway so no harm to try fixing it. I’ll still have to buy one either way if I can’t or break it more” and that you’ve nothing to lose by trying. The only work on any of the 4 tractors and gear at home that hasn’t been done in-house by ourselves (myself and dad) was machining (usually engine bits and I’ve no machines to do it) and sandblasting (because there’s a man less than a mile from me at it professionally)

For anyone that’s interested, here’s a few of the photos @jf 850 sent me before I bought her and some of how she looks now

Plenty of space in the cabs for jf to keep a few bundles of fifties to keep the mattress away from the ceiling.
Those big crystal cabs have a seat for a lad to sit crossways behind the driver, the joke was that it was the mechanics seat.
