Trump is making conciliatory noises to China, driving oil markets a good bit higher, it might be a good time to price around if looking for oil.

Unfortunately the low oil prices didn't last long, they weren't even passed on to a lot of customers, still might be worth ringing around there should be some cheap oil available.

Seems dear enough to me considering 100 tonnes was trading on the wholesale market for under $500.00 a few days ago.
Someone in the chain is either taking bigger than usual profits or are passing on their losses from silly mistakes gambling in the market.
I'm not having a go at you or your supplier it is a very common thing at the moment.

Was talking to lads who bought tractor diesel today and one payed 61 cent including vat for around 6000 liters and the other chap paid 63-5 cent a liter. Both cash on the day customers . Both County Wexford based.

I got the diesel from Emo oil. They were not the cheapest but they came with in two hours of ordering. The difference with another company was only one cent. @thefarminglad that seems very cheap are you sure it's not plus vat? I paid for my bit today too.

Was including vat. Cheaper price was from Glen fuels, dearer price was from Newline oils. In fairness Wexford always seems to be good value for oil.

This was the 21st I think, that explains some of the difference though.

    It's confirming my suspicion though...

Ger answered your question there, Nash. I could be wrong but i would guess you would want to be ordering at least 2000l and playing the field to get a good quote. Its the same as anything, you have to price around or not you get screwed, customer loyalty out the door. If the people you deal with dont give give you a good quote then why should you be loyal to them. No point in lining there pockets when profits from farming is tight.

I wouldn't base all my purchasing decisions on the last few weeks a lot of suppliers and oil importers got caught with their pants down, the markets have caught out a lot of people, but a lot of oil companies and suppliers are taking the piss. Up to people to decide whether your supplier is very fast to pass on price rises and very slow to pass on price reductions .

Diesel to rise 2/3 cents early next week , at least my new diesel supplier had the decency to tell me this as he was coming out this way and would top up tanks before it went up .....

I've often remarked that oil seems to get dearer as you head north in this country.
