Electric fencer

Folks,

Not sure if this is the right area for this query but here goes,

Have a cheeta fencer at home. Wired it up Saturday. As soon as we turned it on it tripped the rcd. Walked the fence to check for damage and earthing and all was ok.

Checked the earthing rod at the fence and all ok there too. Took power wire off fence and everything ok. As soon as we hooked back up it tripped rcd again.

Has anyone out there experienced similar? Are there any fixes you could suggest?

It might be something within the fencer itself, and the extra load is tripping the RCD

The issue will be within the fencer unit not with the fence. Cheetahs service their units if you want to try them

I'd say it the tranfomer or something on the board

Was wrecking my head how to diagnose it.

@agripower, Yes plug wired correctly. Fencer is about 4 years old and has been reliable up to Saturday

It's the fencer itself. Something has burnt out internally and needs replacing.

So, sent the fence off to Cheetah last week. Came back yesterday. Fully repaired.

Great service and reasonable cost it has to be said.
