hydraulic ram

I have replaces 2 ram seals but find it difficult to get the piston back into the cylinders. I have a large one to do yet. Anyone have any suggestions to help.

Did one last week and used grease to get it in for a start.

As bog man posted, some tin or piston ring compressors.

Maybe put up a photograph of the piston/ram. The piston seal should be tight to get in but not very difficult.

You just have to get the piston in far enough so that the cap/nut can be screwed on. The oil will do the rest then.

Mine were too tight for that
