That pile of turf was so high OSI have had to map it!!I would safely say that there is more lost nowadays than there was when they had no machinery. They didn't know any different but hard work, and they stayed at it. Rearing it, ( little hand built stacks that get it off the damp bog). Now people are possibly more likely to take the easy option, and hope it can be got the easy way.
Brucey Thom passed one of the two brothers that own that machines yard last summer ans saw the amount of turf was there. There could be more in the other lads yard. 50 people wouldn't save it by hand if they gave 3 months at it.
Was it Nathan that tempted you up [emoji12]Ended up in CoNaMi country yesterday @ Moynalty Steam Threshing. Great show, plenty of new to me exhibits . A few to interest certain forum members....
2 nice Fords, a Lambourn cab for nash, a toy for a man with money, Bogman perhaps ??? A Tipperary Dexta a long way from home. A once very common but now scarce 3c111 and a tasty turboed 290.View attachment 31362View attachment 31363View attachment 31364View attachment 31365View attachment 31366View attachment 31367

Was expecting a query or even 2 on the alloy . Taken outside the hotel @ Spanish point. Its a pimped Range Rover, range rover isnt on the bonnet. KAHN. 10 D reg. Saw another similar in the UK a month ago, on personalised plates though. Never saw one till then.
Awesome sight, the Cliffs Of Moher. Fabulous day for it.

I did say that about the thick socks ! I dont like heights but they are some sight. Was there maybe 15 years ago , before they "did it up ". Some crowd, but isnt it officially a " wonder of the world " now ?

You have that scaffolding up for slme lenght of time around the Rock of Cashel. Did you overshoot the budget ?.
I didnt go within 15 ft of the edge , up at the end where there is no fence. Some people could wash their hands in the sea., if only they had 600 ft arms, they were so near the edge. I think most of the Italian population was there yesterday.
Several signs for the Samaritans there, so some poor souls must have gone over.
