MASSEY FERGUSON 135 ( MF 20 INDUSTRIAL ) FULL RESTO

hello everyone , its me again , still trawling away at the Massey . i was wrote off with a bloody flu all week so only getting back out at the tractor today , the brother had been working away in my absence and the first thing i noticed he had done was paint the roof .

he also fitted a stainless steel plate for the beacon to sit on and the owner had gotten new sound deadening from Logan mcmaster in the north so he fitted that as well .

today was one of those annoying bloody days where nothing seemed to go right for us , had the electrician in to finish wiring up a few bits and from the get go nothing wanted to work !!!! took ages to figure most of it out , silly stuff like the flasher unit was faulty ( ive a new one on order ) light switch shorting out and not working properly and the real bastard was when we started the tractor to check things were working the amp meter wouldn't work at all , in fact the tractor didn't seem to be charging at all and the diesel gauge refused to work despite everything being brand new ............ like i said " one of those days " , i had to walk away from it more than once .

anyway the problem we found out after an awful lot of head scratching was because of the thickness of paint on the engine and where the dynamo bolts on she wasn't making a proper earth thus not creating a good circuit and fooking everything up !!!

all sorted now and everything working as it should including the two speed wiper motor !!!!

so we were struggling to get some rubber to go between the windscreen ( which can hinge open ) and the cab to prevent vibration and also to create a bit of a seal from the elements . i tried loads of places but no one had anything to suit so i resorted to a waterproof strip for around car doors and cutting the actual " squishy " bit off and bonding that to the back of the windscreen frame itself , it worked out ok but i didn't get a chance to try it on the tractor because some numpty ( ME ) managed to put the hinge part of the frame on backwards when the frame was being assembled so i had to rip that apart last thing and re-do it so no pictures of it on the tractor because the windscreen sealer has to set !!!!!

Coming along nicely now :Thumbp2:

The name plate on the cab frame, is this a generic plate fitted to all, or is it unique to that cab with a serial number?
