Roller transport

How about the old traditional lorry chassis mounted on a lorry front axle with short ramps to reverse roller up onto, roller sits snugly in chassis rails. Low hitch on the end opposite axle and tow away. Roller drawbar gets propped up out of traffics way, maybe this method has been mentioned somewhere before?
