Spring Barley - General Thread

I thought Some of my father's was thick till I saw Cork's "poor" field above!

I've never seen headlands here look as well If I'm being honest. Bit of yellowness coming into It, The rain Is coming In time.

It's after getting a few mm This week And even this evening, It Was a Wellies Only job.

Is it a terpal job John? That looks very well, not too much good looking barley around.

Most definitely Terpal K. (0.6-0.8L/Ha) I’ll wait till flag leaf is peeping. Second last leaf is peeping now.
It’s lucky to have survived as it had water sitting on it after the 3” of rain event.

A lot of barley seems to be uneven following the heavy rain and the dry weather.

Planet looking very well here.

This is going to be quite short I reckon at this stage. I'm not driving the combine

Spraying spring barley, this field will only get 1 fungicide, very little disease in it so far and hopefully it will remain that way.

Why only one? Looks a decent crop do you not think its justified two? Also general question how do modern rate controller work is it volumetric or based on pressure?

Put .6 of terpal on gangway. Probably a little late as the flag leaf is fully out but didn't chance it before we got an appreciable amount of rain. 95 units on but after a good cover crop grazed by sheep and dung.

It is too late for a 2 spray program, awns just beginning to peep, more accident than design.
The Bateman rate controller uses a flow meter and speed sensor to control rate, very accurate.
