Will look like that monday morningMy later sown spring barley don’t want any heavy rain or wind. Have two fields that were sowed on the 12th of April with random patches like this. All of the rest was sowed on the 29th and 30th of March and is that bit more advanced and not as green and all standing.

Laurette seed barley, said I'd take a photo before it possibly goes flat tomorrow with the forecast. 1st after grass with 80 units.
I'll take a picture of a field beside it that looked good earlier in the year but drought has taken its toll. Very thin now. Interesting year, for the most part following cover crops looks well, and slurry but dung is the best.Superb crop :Thumbp2:

They are some very heavy crops of spring barley around here too especially the later sown ones. It wouldn’t take much to flatten them.Laurette seed barley, said I'd take a photo before it possibly goes flat tomorrow with the forecast. 1st after grass with 80 units.
Opposite hereAnything that had cover crops around here seems to be a lot slower about ripening (which is probably a good thing).
I know some commented that crops looked poorer after them originally but he who is fastest doesn't always win the race.
Have the same in after ley as well. It’s far enough away that I won’t see it unless I drive in a really really long laneLaurette seed barley, said I'd take a photo before it possibly goes flat tomorrow with the forecast. 1st after grass with 80 units.
Seen plenty like that from the new bypass today, the really good crops go down of course. The later sown two fields took a bit of a beating last night. Not the worst I seen around but not a nice sight either

I could put up a few pictures like that as well after last night. The worst field we have is where we put in rape after winter barley and grazed it with yearlings. We did cut back on the nitrogen a bit but obviously not enough. The later sown two fields took a bit of a beating last night. Not too bad if you can hit them...No amount of cartridges will keep the crows at bay this year
Where’s de spielSpring barley looks good around here from an ear size and grain fill point of view. Certainly some Ramularia in crops too, they’re starting to change colour.
Planet swaying in the wind.
Where’s de spiel
9-10ac, not good at all.....
I’m thinking of wholecropping one field of barley as I don’t want the neighbours talking about the sow thistles. There must be 4 or 5 thistles in the field.
Just seen this now, you'll be drinking the sfp and keeping a few donkeys if you dont get your act together
