Neighbour is growing 12ac of barley
Storage is ancient, 2 old 20t bins in old stone building so auger on and out.
Little to no concrete to tip or store and no spare shed space.
He would like to caustic treat so can feed weanlings ad lib.
just trying to get some ideas really

We thought about ag bagging but there isn't 1 locally and cant see someone turning up for 25 tons

Propcorn or Maxammon work well and can be stored in an open shed but as Bogman says it sounds like a bit of concrete is the first thing that lad needs.

Does it need crushing for caustic treatment??
In which case the bins are out of the equation.
(Never dealt with caustic?!)

Wholecrop and buy in straw!

Lad has only just taken over and last week went down with tb so is hoping the caustic grain will be creep fed to the calves so they can be gone as soon as possible

If you have a local feed mill ask them the price per ton to trade for meal. That way he can get out what he needs as and when

Or do you have any local mills/merchants who offer the facility to dry, store and roll grain which the farmer brings to them and then can take back out again.
