What are you up to in the workshop?

Looking to make spraying the nettles and thissles and briars along the hedge rows easier than the knapsack . If i wer to make a frame to attach to loader with 3 or four sprayer nozzles and run pipe back to the middle section of sprayer and disconnect the sprayer section would this work ? Its an old sprayer think 9 meter 400l has 3 sections one middle and the two sides . So if i extend the hose up by tractor to loader ? Or even just make an extension to side of sprayer ?

Yup thats my idea iv the steel euro bracket and hose all i need to buy is nozzels just wondering if just connecting to middle section of sprayer ?
I'd say that should work. my sprayer has a bank of 4 taps. mid section, left and right and one for the hand lance. all have equal flow so really any section could be connected through any nozzle.

I got theee to make boom what spaceing is good ?

Good blast of air there, there'd be a good few amps of a draw on the battery there too, would it last long?
I haven’t tried it yet to see how long the battery lasts. The longest I’ve used it for would be about half an hour, I would imagine it would be fairly hard on the battery.

As said above most would be .5m spacing when on a normal sprayer boom but for what your doing maybe they’d be better on an L, 2 to the side and one pointing down? You’d need to play around a little bit to get the spacing right so that your getting full coverage on the corner I’d imagine?

Made an attachment here for clipping on loader years ago for this job. Short length of sprayer pipe attached to length of angle iron with slight curve at outside end. Used standard single flat fan nozzles. One nearest tractor points straight down, next one is 18 inches along and sits at about 20 degree angle pointing to hedge, last one 12 inches from middle nozzle at about 30 degree angle toward hedge.
Personally don't like nozzles pointing straight at hedge. It's the weeds along the bottom of the hedge that need sprayed, not the hedge itself. Anywhere weeds are high simply raise the loader.

As some know we recently bought a Reco SH40.
We wanted to find an extention ring for the spout. So I stuck an add on FB and a mate replied saying he had a 10 inch one on a scrap machine. Ideal... of we go.
As we were arriving at his, got a call to say get back soon as with some issue.
Quick look at it. Bodged it off and away....
Anyhoo got it home and wasn't as pretty as we thought. More ware than we thought inside and had a rust bubble on the top lip inside. The lugs in the pic are someone elses bodge, seems they used the worm drive from a Claas to convert from hydraulic to an electric motor to turn the spout!
So. Decided on some bodging!! Used some flat bar to strengthen from the collars, at least then the pipe isn't structural any more. And should last a good few years for the amount we do. And a quick coat of red oxide to make it pop! :cool1:Screenshot_20190716-170025_Gallery.jpg 20190716_164127.jpg

A few jobs from the last while. everything from exhausts to tool boxes to basketball hoops.

How did the elephant trunk you were making turn out after westclare

Turned out a fine job, delighted with it. a good bit of work in making it, unless i would get the right money for them its prob not worth my while making one for what they can be bought for.
