20ft rakes

does the headstock pivot??
if so id go along the lines of the way the krone is done rather than trying to make it like claas
Yes the headstock does pivot. It can be awkward getting into field from a narrow lane , will have to look at some krone .

Just wondering would it be a big job to put a steering Axel on a class 660 rake ?
Why would you want to go to the trouble, first rake I had was a 6 metre Pottinger, no steering but a bit like taking a trailer through a gateway when turning, just a matter of positioning the tractor to turn a corner.

Our rake has done v little and won't be changing it just thought if it had a steering axle would make it a lot easier getting through a 12ft gap from a 10ft lane .if it was my own land I would have two 12 gates .

Locally i saw a star 2 rotor rake .It was a small size for a baler with star written along the back ,It caught my eye because it was quaint .I must find out a bit more about it

Hi folks rake is good to use, the only issue I had was the rotors lifted together. But of sorting of pipe work and now lifts independently.

Mchale rake came today, seems a nice yoke, longer, wider and higher than the mf but kinder on the ground, no feel for pulling rope for unfolding, mudguards over wheels big help to stop indicators getting covered, steering axle done better than mf too and heavier frame.

Last bit of raking for the year I’d reckon

A question for ye lads .I mow my own silage with 10ft con mower and contracor fakes with both a claas 2600 & 2700 .He bales with a fusion .The raking seems to leave a valley in the middle of the sward for the baler .The bales look solid but the middle seem to be a bit saggy .I opened one bale and i could pull sops out of the middle easy while the sides were rock hard .My problem i think the middle of the bales should be packed better .Should the rows for the baler be narrower so no valley in the middle after raking

Im far from an expert on it but yes seen contractor here with the same with a kverland rake.grass had been tedded out.bales were hollowed.hadnt to many done and got rakerman to close in abit.made way better bales and alot easier to stack to with the manitou

Best say it to the man on the rake, your paying the bill so they may do it the way you want it done. Pulling in the rake 6 inches would make a world of difference.
