Same story here. We are looking at the worst winter barley harvest since we started back growing it in 2005. Blasting through acres since Friday, easy cut, easier haul away. Tipping in the shed, we will deliver later this week, I don't see it making 3.0T/ac at 16-18%.
I think we got the agronomy right, crops looked lovely up until mid May when drought took hold. In hindsight we probably overspent on chemistry, yields don't justify the big final spray applied but I didn't see this coming. Drought is fast becoming the biggest yield robber in this part of the country.
