Pictures..Old and newish!

Seeing as the day was bad decided to give the 42 a lick of polish. A member on here recommended the chrome products and its good stuff surely.
Changed the stabilisers to the kind that's on the 43 series as well.slight bit of cutting to the bracket thats bolted to the axle to get them to fit. The old ones were gone very sloppy. Got them and a few other bits of ned murphy in wexford, sound men to deal with.
Have you that 4270 long ?

They are a super tractor, had 3 of them here over the years, best massey ever made in my opinion
It is actually a 4260. My brother found new panels for it in chandler's in England when we do e it up, They had 4270 stickers on them so just went with that at the time. Never been near the brakes, engine or gearbox on it. Got a clutch, a good simple tractor alright.

Built 4 miles up the valley, not a trace of the old works now, hasn’t been in my lifetime.
I've been looking for a donor one the last while. Missed out on one in donegal last year. Need to keep a better eye open but their like hens teeth now I'd imagine.

A contractor I worked for had a few bags of spares shafts/gears etc he let them go with his last Atkinson spreader when he bought transpread spreaders.

Picked up this today. Sold my other tanker on donedeal. Had looked at new tankers but with the way prices were going couldn't justify them so decided to keep a eye out for a clean 1300. Came on this in Leitrim. Very happy with it. Clean small takers are getting scarce.

Is it an ‘07 model? Looks very similar to mine.

Very clean tanker, seems to be a bit of value in secondhand tankers.

A neighbor here bought a new tanker and dribble bar with tams and he sold his 1300g on dd. It was sold without the buyer seeing it within an hour. Paid for and collected that evening and it went to west cork. Seems to be hard to find a clean second hand tanker and huge demand for them.

I was only sort of keeping a look out on donedeal, saw this at 11 o clock one morning, hopped in the van and had it bought at 2 o clock. Value in smaller non recessed tanks anyways, not many want them now a days.

Smaller tanks will be getting scarce as theirs not many being sold new now, my 1000 gallon was sold within the day of putting it on donedeal and I thought I might struggle to sell it tbh.

Some differ in price to new now... New 1300 was 11k last year. Probably around 12 with today's prices.

Interesting . Big jump in prices in that period .
Whereas , a new Hi Spec 1600 , with similar spec to MF30s , bar on Russian 533? Tyres could be bought for £6100 in Sept 1996 . Old money as they say .

Fee pics from the last while, might as well keep the thread going. Its been a great year for sheep, lambs so far have averaged 128 and most were killed without meal. Finishing the horned lams now but they will take a bit of feeding. Ewes are in some order but never saw as much grass around for this time of year. Rams are gone out with the lowland ewes a week now so it all starts again.

Pulled this out of hibernation, a long time since it was used last but going to give it a go on some silage ground after second cut. The photo with the 168 was nearly one of the last times it was used so with a bit of luck it should work.. 😅

A Hunter rotary strip seeder I think ?

Next in line for a bit of a freshen up. It's been on the long finger a while and its well worth doing I think. She's perfect mechanical wise. I'll try and get some pics up as it goes along.
