Safest place for that type. It's a lot of steel for a €1.00 , wouldn't he be better off to get scrap value for it.........................................

Thank you. I was looking for one but got fixed up only last week👍
Herbst would surely be comparable for quality?Would a brand new one be much more?

My bad I forgot to add on the vat but still cheaper. Only thing I couldn’t work out was if the chieftain was on springs but I’m pretty certain it’s also on bogies. I don’t know at that age but chieftains used to have a tendency to do the splits if I’m not mistaken?€11,600 or so unless vat registered, still less than the Chieftain
I had a 14ton chieftain and it had those pattern tyres from new.good enough job tooThe chieftain is after a tidy respray job id say, and not its original tyres I would think
It’s odd only one shown in the pic but the spec lists twin dual actingonly issue with the herbst but is probably not a deal breaker is the single ram on the door?
One of them local enough was drawing off a site beside us in work looked to be a fair beast of a trailer.I was a few vehicles behind a dump trailer the other day, looked a decent bit of kit, only got a decent look at it at a roundabout, a Chieftain like this. View attachment 97010
Its a Grubberhttps://www.donedeal.ie/harrows-for-sale/subsoiler/28785912 any thoughts on this, I'd describe it as a grubber rather a subsoiler. Thinking of something to do a bit of ripping with a packer. There are an abundance of disc harrows of various price ranges but seldom see something with legs.
Any thoughts on build quality or is it like everything, you get what you pay for? Some people on here seem to be getting on well with some of the economy brand disc harrowsIts a Grubber
I would be worried about the breakout force of the Pigtail . I have used Horsch since 2004 and I think the Trra Grip tine has a Breakout of 500Kg .When it trips the force drops to 150Kg .Any thoughts on build quality or is it like everything, you get what you pay for? Thanks for that, it would be the most important considerationI would be worried about the breakout force of the Pigtail . I have used Horsch since 2004 and I think the Trra Grip tine has a Breakout of 500Kg .When it trips the force drops to 150Kg .
