It’s in it’s up and it’s running! And thankfully I didn’t make a mess of soldering the board for the freewheel mod which I have to be honest I was very nervous of. Got my was mounted pretty neat forgot a pic of my own link but basically the same as the one shown. Have a bit of fettling to do on settings as hitting the autosteer button at first from too far away was getting a bit hairy with it snaking badly over and back but I can hopefully reduce it

Could you not make something with some u bolts and wing nuts instead?

It seems the Panasonic tablet is hard enough got now unless you want to brave Brexit and customs charges etc
Did you get one nashmach?
Do most of them not have a Lan port? I'm finding it difficult to find one saying or showing it has it.

I got mine from this crowd, used address pal to save a bit on postage. Customs was around €40. They do specify that it has lan port in the descriptions which was what steered me that way. Condition of the tablet is spot on, minor mark on one of the rubber corners but I think that was the only thing. Oh and I only realised after that it has a SIM card slot, I tried to open it but the 2 screws seem to be very tight and any of the small screwdrivers I had don’t seem to want to fit in securely

Edit be a help if I added link;

If you can’t find one with a loan port, it’s not the end of the world.

All tougpads will have usb ports, and you can buy a usb to ethernet (lan port) adaptor. You can get them on eBay or Amazon.

Cheers. I ordered from the link above anyway same a drew and Nash. So I will definitely have more questions as we go. 😁

Bought the same one as drew, not here yet, it's in the AddressPal place as I type!

are you all going to go to Autosteer

https://agopen.shop/product/geared-agopengps-kit/ anyone bought this? Whole setup there for you
Yes. That’s the kit I fitted, as I said above I know I could probably buy all the bits cheaper but tbh I wanted it up and running and it’s neat and tidy and everything there in one go, if you were buying all the bits and pieces the over all price would probably look ok till you add each delivery cost for bits coming here and there, and potential customs charges could catch you out ordering from England to here.
I didn’t get the tablet through him though I bought it seperately off eBay. Saved about 200 and went for the option that the majority of users seem to opt for in the Panasonic. The other part of that being I got one with a direct lan port, I wasn’t sure from his description wether he was doing lan through a usb hub.

The other bit I will add is that the freewheel mod has to be done on the board if you want it(I’d be surprised if you didn’t want to after trying it without. Its simple enough though, just have to solder a wire into the aio board and onto the cytron board

I had it just down on the front right corner of the floor but hadn’t really fixed it and it was moving about a little, cables were also a little untidy, I thought there might just be enough room to make a shelf beside the seat but when we looked at it decide to hell with it make a small cut in the panel and let it over make sure it was away from the seat. I fibreglassed in a little pocket and shelf for it into the panel. The fibreglass definitely isn’t the best job in the world but it’s holding it secure which is more important to me. The cables are all nicely tucked in now out of the way and the power and wheel angle sensor are going out properly with the rest of the cables in the cab rather than out through the door. The only one I left out was the Ethernet cable, partly I forgot and partly it can be taken out with the tablet if not in use.

Also the tablet mount I made is pretty simple but thankfully rock solid and I have definitely tested it on the ground I was on with the tanker 😂 I just added 2 corners on the front that you can see in earlier post and it holds the tablet perfectly

I have the basic starter kit and the toughpad ordered now. Is there anything else I need to be lining up? (other than mount for the tablet and box for arduino.)

Data usb cable for when you get it and a way of charging the tablet would be also be worthwhile when your working on the mounting of it
