Axle Casting

Doing a tidy up on the steering and front axle of the 165 at the moment, some serious wear on the front axle beam.
The axle pin was seized solid but with a lot of heat and persuasion it came out eventually, turns out a bit of the old axle bush was coming out with it and had wedged the pin.
So now I have a crack in the casting so the question is weld it with a cast rod or a new casting.
Opinions please.

Available spurious . No idea of the cost . It's 20 yrs ago since a relative put one in a 168 . Think it was 350 to 400 pounds, so could be 25 yrs ago

I would only try welding it as a last resort. If possible try and get a new or secondhand casting.
