Chainsaw thread who got what?

Did someone post a handy way of making wood boxes out of pallets.??
Get 5 standard disposable fert pallets, on 2 pallets trim back all the lathes, on 2 other pallets trim back the lathes on 1 face of the pallets, the 4 pallets will fit together and the lathes left on one face of of the pallets will allow easily nail it together, put the last pallet on top screw it down and you have a box. Use half pallets for the sides if you want a shallower box.

Not exactly chainsaw question but similar.
I have an oak tree which I want planked in wide slabs.the local man who does my sawing with a wood mizer type logosol machine can only cut 2 ft wide.
This tree is 4ft and ideally I want full width slabs
Anyone know somewhere that can do this?
I can get another man with a rack bench to split it but wouldn't be a able to slab it

This lad can cut up to 1.3 meters

I can't get hom to answer his phone even though its ringing out this few days!
I don't have any other option for him unless you try sending him a message through his page or by email.
He is very good. He sawed a large spalted beech for a relative of mine for to make a kitchen. My relative would be fussy enough but he found Willi to be top class at his job. His daughter works with him.

You could screw a stronger piece of timber in front of the ends of the light slats then screw through the whole lot.
But a screw in each light slats would hold fine .washers would be another option or Tek screws.
I bought potato boxes a few years ago for drying timber in.
I gave up using them as it was awkward getting the bottom layer out of the box.
I buy vented bulk sacks now, easier to empty.
standard builder size for selling or taller ones for own use sometimes.
around 5 euro to buy

This has arrived to finish cutting up some boards. He was here previously with a chainsaw on a jig .

€700 a day for the machine. Not sure it makes economic sense but that never stopped us before. If anyone wants some fancy timber mantle pieces in a variety of timbers .

These Stihl easy files have been around for a few years. has anyone here actually used one? They get good reviews.

Timber season is starting early for me this year, hoping to take down a few ash trees this weekend
