Covid 19

only something like 2 % of cases is from travel abroad. It's the clusters in factories that are fecking everything up

Wouldn't it be far better if they actually reported the numbers on a work based cluster basis as well? I'd imagine the 200 might not sound as bad then. As long as it does not become community transmission from these clusters

That’s all they are cases no deaths, the curve was flattened in June and the hospitals were never overwhelmed the two main reasons for lockdown in the first place yet they keep it going.
I think since they got the whole nursing home fiasco under control deaths have plummeted

Old people are either dead or cocooning therefore not featuring in the cases. Young people out working or socialising are catching it . Testing in the homes and hospitals and better practices in those settings has eliminated spread to the vulnerable in those situations.
Some workers in hospitals were Typhoid Marys . A niece works in a big private hospital and a consultant shook hands with patients and spread it to them and staff .
Covid will thrive where people break the rules.
At the start it was all about Ventilators and PPE and an agenda by the health industry that were spreading it .
What stopped it was changing human behavior and emptying the hospitals. AIDS in Africa was centered around hospitals and truck routes and COVID is similar. Death by doctor born disease is very high.

Reading these articles in the papers, it is concerning the spread of it in the meat factories, this is not a new story today or yesterday it seems with the number of cases from March/April.

It would be about time it was nipped in the bud.

190 new cases. Our local soccer club and gaa club are shut for 48 hours due to a family member of a juvenile player testing positive

If there real serious about nipping it in the bud why allow football continue when small outdoor groups have been made smaller.same number still allowed for religous services .masks in all places but ya can slobber over a few pints with no mask and pubs stay open til 1130.have my doubts if schools will go ahead in the end.
Not good to see it in the glanbia plant now either

Thats the funny part.between the 2 panels and officals sure ya have close to 45 anyway or maybe more but yet an ordinary outdoor event is 15

Pulled up outside the local church last Sunday and asked the neighbour how many they had. 15 he said.

A lot of them sit outside in their cars at ours when there might be 10 inside. It's probably more to do with the mask if truth be told. I think it's a crazy dehumanizing thing tbh and at the same time you can go to a hotel or bowling alley and the staff are masked up but the patrons aren't. See in Australia the police are forcibly arresting people who don't wear a mask in the open air. Is that the next thing we have in store here I wonder? Telling elderly people to stay indoors again makes no sense as getting exercise and fresh air will help them fight the inevitable colds and flu that will come in the winter.
If I had a shed of sick calves it would do nothing for them to have every other animal in the country locked up. Isolate the sick.

Went to Aldi last night, I'd say there was 10-12 customers there, 4 without masks, group of 10 young lads outside the door, one young lad without a mask in getting a single pack of Jaffa Cakes, think they are just looking to be challenged, first time in a supermarket since mandatory masks. Latest rule change is targeting the wrong people I think, last week 4-500 came from meat processing or food plants, cancelling outdoor gatherings like matches etc is hardly targeting a hot spot all closing these little things will do is force bigger crowds to beaches, into towns etc at weekends, scaring already careful older people even further. Hard to see schools actually opening if they are pulling the reins this hard again.

Very noticeable the percentage of people wearing masks now compared to the spring, id say 80% when out and about in town and in supermarkets

And it seems to be having the opposite effect. Sanatising of hands is the big thing and this has dropped way back. Mask give people confidence, hence less precautions taken
