Fence Posts/Stakes

They are a hell of a price! Tough to get a staple into as well.
Not sure if you need to pilot drill a hole to staple?

But would be there for life! Bet they'd be very usefull in fruit growing where you might need posts to hold growing wires seasonally
best just drill a hole straight thru them, as you say staples are impossible to knock in, they are good job though

Just pricing stakes today Only going to be used for dairy single strand fencing , 5X4 Cresouted- 6.50/stake vs tanalised non-cresouted - 3.70 , is the cresouted worth the extra money or do lads get on well with tanalised?

You'll be lucky to get 5 years out of the green stained ones.

There's a massive difference between the quality of green posts.i have some down 20 years and still fine.bought from hyde in aughrim ballinasloe who dried them properly and diluted the tanalith correctly. His posts were dark ish green when others were near white

Has anybody got prices lately for 4x3 square stakes and 4x2 lengths for post and rail lately? And also for 3-4” rounds? Local place that was good for stakes has stopped doing them and all the local glanbia has now is machined balcas that look like they were shown the tin of treatment and not much else but still €5.75 for a 6ft 4” round

We got our post and rail from Tommy Williamson but that was a couple of years ago but can’t remember how much. Also have his round posts five years which still seem solid
