Fibre Broadband

Will this fiber broad band be dogey enough, when the first storm comes and the wires are in the ground sure propysre going to go from high speed broadband to nothing ?
From what I see they are nearly indestructible. They were going through a lot of hedges and there has not been a problem .

When they were installing them round here before getting out up on the poles they had the cables left lying across the road in places with traffic driving over it

We moved from Vodafone to eir this last week for our fibre broadband. They give a guaranteed price for the next 2 years and we can have as many mobile phones as we like at 9.99 a month. We now have 1gb speed. I think we had been with Vodafone for too long. Our plan was costing 85 euro a month for fibre briadband and 2 mobile phones and we now have broadband with eir and 3 mobiles for 70 odd euro.

Have you been with eir mobile before?

I tried the same deal 3 years ago and had to switch mobile networks after a few months. Eir was terrible around here anyway

Yes. I spent 2 years with them up to 3 years ago and found signal very good.

Have my phone changed over a week now and it has every bit as good of coverage as Vodafone and everywhere around here is under 5g coverage so im very happy with it.

Got vodafone a few weeks ago, €40 a month for 2 years, mobiles are with gomo. Broadband is good 500MB package getting 550MB at the router, had to get a TPlink P9 Deco system (powerline version) to boost wifi around the house as the 2 foot thick stone walls were killing the rate, down to 20 or 30MB the other end of the house, deco has it back upto 3-400 MB.

Parents are having awful trouble with circet atm to get fibre connected. I had a nightmare with them too. Imagine have turned off the service in the area so they got sent out a modem until cirect connect them

Got Starlink in the home house earlier this year, 35 a month and it’s plenty good for 99% of peoples needs, very simple to install.
Have fibre at the road but would have to dig up a the lawn and driveway to bring it in underground or else bring in a cable overhead, neither of which would be ideal, so we said we’d try the Starlink. I think Amazon are getting into that type of broadband now soon in Ireland aswell.
Have fibre in my own house but as it was a new build it wasnt as much of a job digging in the trench for the ducting.

Don't get me started on them

Same.

They've fiber to the road but it'd last until the first strong breeze until a branch fell on the wire.

There was no chance circut were going drilling our house.

I put starlink up in an afternoon. I did buy a better bracket and mount than they provided though.

Ya some of the lads they send out can be dog rough, in fairness the buck that came out to do mine was sound, I was with him the whole time he was there pulling the cable with him and he brought it right in to where I wanted it in the attic, I think helping him made all the difference because most of the time I see them working on their own and I’d say it can be awkward enough work without a second pair of hands.
Ya we got a proper hot dipped galvanised bracket and used a heavy scaffold pole to mount the dish.
