Just a freak second half. Listening to the Sunday game panel tonight they saying that Tipp were playing well enough and would have been happy at half time. I can’t have this, Cork v comfortable 6 up and only playing to about 60% I would have said. Their intensity levels dropped off while Tipps exploded early in second half. That was the difference for everything that happened after. To bring intensity you have to have belief when it starts showing in scores it reinforces and galvanises a team and brings more conviction. I think Cork underestimated Tipps reaction after halftime and were shocked when they were in the middle of it and couldn’t alter or get traction to change. Cork are far better than that today and that’s what will hurt them the most
I dunno 🤔 Cork have been unimpressive in the championship this year. Last year at the start of the championship I fancied Cork to win, and had a small punt, thought they were a little hard done by in the final.
This year, they beat Tipp easily, but it was in Cork and the sending off early on really effected the Tipp team. They got absolutely trounced by Limerick, and were uninspiring against Waterford. Yes, they won the Munster final.
But, the real kicker for me, a poor Dublin team put 2.21 past them, enough to win a lot of games, and were extremely unlucky not to score two further goals.
As soon as Tipperary pushed forward in the second half instead of sitting back and giving Cork the ball, Cork were all over the place. Sadly for this Cork team, I think they left their chance of an all Ireland after them last year.

I couldnt understand how Cork were so confident (ok, I know confidence runs through their veins, but still) They've been shocking inconsistent all year.

They seem to be very form sensitive. On their best they're impressive, but as soon as they go off the boil they were very mediocre. The first game against tipp they pulled out a fine lead in the first 10 minutes after the shock sending off at the start but 14 man tipp held with them nearly point for point from that stage on. poor enough against waterford, woeful against limerick

I didnt think they looked all that great in the first half yesterday. Apart from our backs we werent really at the races in the first half which really flattered Cork. But still despite all this I can't get my head around their second half performance.

Two points in 35 minutes of All Ireland final. I can't get my head around it.

I agree with Ozzy in that I thought Tipp looked super relaxed in the prelims, meeting president the parade etc, looked full of belief and relaxed

Before the match, twas hard to see Donegal beating Kerry, but Jim Mcguiness is a fair operator, and would have one a tad nervous!
I was fairly confident of a donegal victory but we didn't play to our potential and jim got a schooling today from Jack o connor

at least he acknowledges the struggles in his home parish in leitrim and similar parishes all over the country that are finding it hard to make even a combined team

Unless Tipp have been sandbagging the whole league I'd say the All Ireland is Limerick's to lose.

Limerick were inconsistent today but Cork could only barely keep pace and never looked dangerous I thought.

Limerick were only playing with them in the first half, gave them the handiest goal ever to keep them ticking over. But it’s only the league so all could change. I’m always of the mindset that winning becomes a habit and you should try and win everything, that’s why I never get Kerry footballs take on the league
