Just looking at toppers in Atkins all thats left in stock are 9 ft Perfects or Wylies.
The Perfect possibly leaves a better finish as its got 3 belt driven rotors (more overlap) to the Wylies 2 rotors and can be used semi offset.
However the Wylie has 2 cross rotors.lt also looks heavier built but can only work inline.
Any experiences of either machine?

Used a fully offset perfect with the three rotor setup. Seemed well built. Cut well enough, topped rushes too occasionally. Used on 70hp and 100hp at the pto, no issues and easy to maintain. I wouldn't be afraid of one.

What price is the perfect and wylie?

The semi off set will leave a line where the wheel went and the in line will leave two lines. The wheel flattens the weeds and it stands back up after a while

Cheap disc mower would be better but if you have rough ground you might destroy it. I’d agree with Nash steer clear of anything with belts

How rough isthe work you want to do with it?
We talking hidden rocks and tree stumps? Or just some poaching from cattle?

We bought a perfect topper from Atkins in 1992 and only traded it 2016 brilliant machine neighbours all had shaft driven ones endless trouble belt topper will slip if it hits an unmovable object no topper on farm bought mower and mows in front of cows instead mower travels ground better then topper as long as it’s got good suspension setup

We got rid of the topper 5 years ago and got a 10ft trailer disk mower. Even put topping skids on it. Tops and mows silage. That way it's paying for itself
