I'm down a good bit in acreage for hay compared to other years (long story)
Anyhow cut a few bits for hay yesterday evening.
Warm but dull day today, shook it all out, forecast looks pretty good. We'll have a go.

May God be with you. Last bit of hay I cut was in June 2015, eventually baled it in August. Turned 15 times rowed 3 times, made a start at baling it 3 times, rained the first two and had to stop. Eventually made 80 bales of shite. In the end if twoud light I’d have burnt it. Never again.

You'll get it baled up by Tuesday evening. Family might not be happy but ted it out twice on Sunday and you'll be home and dry.

Just cut here myself today light but that should help it dry fingers crossed we timed it right the weather apps will be more popular than tictok for the next few days

The father is attempting more hay at the minute, got some rain last night though 😬

Did you take any moisture tests on it after baling?

Failed here too!! Our hay became haylage. Wasn't quite there on Sunday evening and showers that night and was overcast with poor drying today. So very good haylage rather than poor hay. Horsey crowd might want some!:moustache:

Luck was on my side. Last year I said I would never make as green hay again, this year its even greener. Saturday and Sunday were only alright days and nothing near what was forecast for here. Yesterday was a cracker, you would save anything, but the land where we were at it is complete hay land. 40ac, 4 turns and just under 400 bales, some if them were the baler mans. It serious job satisfaction to make hay

I could never make hay in June from grass that was reseeded within the last few years without tedding it at least 7 times and up to 10 times in order to get the moisture below 17%. Old meadow hay I've made in 4 turns but I'm holding out another fortnight to mow the hay. Having said that I made hay in May the last two years and both years I said never again.
