Lanoguard

My 03 Hilux developed a hole in the chassis at a bend recently.had to plate it over for testing.
I asked the tester about protecting the underbody and he said chassis usually rots from within because there are holes where water gets in to the chassis rail and causes rust at a low point.
Surface rust won't fail a test AFAIK.
So is there any point spending time and money preventing the unpreventable
Cavity wax should significantly slow corrosion from within. Probably a bit late for your Hilux but something to consider for its replacement

Surely their is less road salt than their used to be coz they can't afford.
I dont know why a galvanised chassis isn't an option when buying it new.

They should be coming treated from the factory, metal quality looks to be very poor for that level of corrosion unless it’s parked close to the sea or driven through metal eating shite every day

There is a crowd in Meath do good job with Lanoguard - FMK: FMK Rustproofing

I've not used them, but someone on another forum I'm on put up some photos and it looked like a well done job. You pay for it though.

A relation got a new pickup recently and the dealer undersealed it as part of the PDI.
