Low roof loader tractor

There was in the next parish put up cattle sheds etc during the boom got up to some funny stuff down through the years. Sort of retired now.

They were in the pub one Friday night and the lad who owned the pub came out from behind the counter to ask them to look at a job. He had a 2 bay hayshed in the bottom of a field and wanted to move it to the top of the field. He reckoned they'd have to take it down and bring it up in bits, but the boys wanted a handy way out of it.

They went on to look at it the day after and said they would be back the following Saturday to do it. They brought rsjs with them and basically welded an x shaped skid within in the shed. They then cut it off flush with the ground, and attached it to the digger.

They towed it up the field in one piece with a digger, cut the skid off, and set it in 4 new holes, the consequence being the shed was now a foot lower but was high enough to work still. Pub owner came up to see how they were getting on at dinner time and they were packing up to go home.

Thanks @Merv_B
I came across this in the last few days.
Unfortunately spring has sprung, finding it hard to get time to chase up much at the moment.

They might be worth getting in touch with when time allows @gone ,back in the 300 days they sold more Duncan cabbed 300s than any where in the uk The need for for low cabbed tractors must still there in that area maybe to a lesser extent though.

Yeah there's plenty of smaller family farms in this area, with need for smaller lower cabs

Weidemann loaders and skidsteers have done away with the need for low cabbed tractors, also a lot of side engine loadalls are very low.
A neighbour was looking for a replacement for his cabless db995,he couldn’t get enthusiastic about spending £20k for a cabless Massey so he spent £5k on the brown.
In the years to come it will even be more difficult to get a tractor to suit what your looking for and without me been a smart arse , is it not leaving the problem there for the next generation to modify the entrance or that on the shed.
I'd be all for some modification and preserving as much of the old heritage and character of the building but making sure its still functional
It’s all well and good protecting heritage etc sadly the next owner will just doze it down, local farmer put his farm up sale saying it had to go to another dairy farmer because he wanted it to stay as a dairy farm, fella bought it packed in milking and converted the lot and cashed in,reality is the 1st seller should have done the same.

If you are going to look at 5600 massys make sure top link mod was done to it heavier bolts holdin the bracket and third hole added instead of 2 . When they first came out ya couldnt work a bale lifter or powerbox without a hydraulic toplink
