Massey Ferguson 7400

I don't know much about Fendt's cardan brake, but surely it is not up to making the front wheel skid?
When braking a lot of weight is transferred onto the front wheels meaning it is very hard to make the front wheels skid.
For example the braking ability of my van, the front axle exerted nearly twice the braking force of the rear axle.

the front cardan brake is exactly the same as on 1 side of the rear wheels

Dropped the 7495 into a local dealer today to change a front suspension bearing and there was an 8s 225 at the front door so parked up beside it.

The 8s cab is a tad higher and a good bit wider, but very little difference in the wheel base dimensions in my opinion. The 8s is a big girl, but I think the shape and design of the cab from the rear mud guards up makes it look even bigger than it really is.

I took the pics from different angles to try get a decent comparison

I was changing the fuel filters on the 7495 this evening, and when swapping out the main filter I found a wire with a male terminal sitting behind, and all on its lonesome.

You can tell from the dust inside that it’s been in that position for a while at least, and I reckon at least since I bought it back in October last year. I then found a female terminal which I’m pretty sure is the buddy for the male terminal given the sizing and the fact they are no other unattached female terminal contenders in that locality.

You can see in the second pic above, that the female terminal is labelled ‘ENG 52’. I consulted the technician’s manual, and it states that ‘ENG 52’ is the "Identification module harness junction". Now, I personally have no idea what an Identification module harness junction is or what I’d does. Does anyone here know it’s purpose?

I should add that the tractor is running perfectly, everything is doing what it should, and there are no error codes. So I am very reluctant to rejoin up this pair, unless there is good reason.

All observations welcome.

It’s a tier 3 model, if that helps.

is your perkins or sisu engine?
It seems to go to a module but only shown on sisu engine. I dont see it on perkins

I think you are right, across all the manuals I have looked at, it only shows up under sisu engine as per the pic below:

I think I’m getting somewhere with my A and B preset problem, got the diagnostic screen up when they started playing up and nothing worked, thought I’d have a route about the wiring to the fuel pump and unbeknown to me the ecu is mounted on x3 rubbers like you had for holding tractor doors open etc while messing I released the ecu off one of the mounts and when I clicked it back in place the revs lifted, now if I give the ecu a tap when it plays up it starts to work again.
Looking like something loose in the ecu so tonight I clipped it off and when I find the correct bit I’m going to open the ecu tomorrow and have a look.

Check cabling into ecu first. See if moving wires in the plug is having the effect. Is the plug clean?
