Doing a revamp on the parlour at the moment so I'll keep all pics together. Going from an 8 unit to a 12 unit with acr and feeders all new to me, the old building was wide enough so had to do nothing there. Knocked out pit walls to put a 9inch over hang in pit, also knocked out old troughs to rebuild them up against walls as I had a walk way behind them before 20171212_093104.jpg 20171212_093652.jpg 20171212_114145.jpg 20171212_130243.jpg

Just a few more from the first few days

Just an update on progress here at the moment, started back at it this week again. Got the floor ready on Monday and got concrete poured Tue and worked the red colour into it which took a while cause of the damp weather and the last picture is of it today dried out nearly!20180109_091231.jpg 20180109_160540.jpg 20180109_173917.jpg 20180110_133927.jpg

It will be all separate ones so will put up blocks inbetween or at least that's the plan anyway
Very good some farms in Europe put a large tile in the bottom not sure what the idea is, iv seen people use stainless kegs cut in half too it can look well think they are easy to clean

Funny you should mention that but I have tiles got for the base of the trough ! I got some funny looks when I asked for them at the tile shop but they gave them for free so all good

Whats the idea of the tiles!!!
Well for me we can put them straight up against the wall, don't have to be trying to buy,cut and fix corrie pipes into trough space and the cow will be licking the tile a long time before she wares it down ! That's my thinking anyway so it will either work or be a failure but I'll keep ye posted

Under a bit of pressure and this weather is not helping and options are limited,I took this today after last night's rain had about 30 mm of rain, a lot lads in trouble around here with full tanks now! 20180121_115042.jpg
