Pipe under road

Can you go with a bigger pipe in softer ground? We are planning to put a pipe under a road and were hoping to put something in that's 14 to 16 inch. The road is built on bog so getting an opening permit and digging it out would see a big cost. I'd think the council would make us fill it with lean mix too.

Its possible but as an example we would have to use a 16 inch steel pipe pipe alone would cost about €2000 generally speaking if its for drainage people go for 9 inch could do that for about €1950 plus vat

OK. We are just planning at the moment but I will get in touch when we are closer to doing it
