Restoration/ Refurbs

🙈Oh Jeanie don't talk. Went away for an hour to get another yolk going and came back to find the father had the tractor sitting there like that, nearly had a heart attack when I seen it, especially the front. To be honest though it's sturdier than it looks.
Only trying to be funny, no offence intended.
On another note, those diesel tanks are very prone to rust where they join to the mudguards I would remove it and clean it, if it was mine.

I sincerely hope so
The worst part is I could have got axle stands from where I was coming from. The things the father can get up to when he's bored. Got a fraser muckmaster a few months back which was in a bad way, needed bearings, fails you name it, it needed it. Went off dosing cattle for the day and came back that evening to find he had somehow removed the well seized sprocket at the front with a crude home made pullers out of 3 threaded bars and had both bearings on the front and back taken off. But then there are times he'd have 0 interest like today with prepping the pannels for spraying.

I know. It was pretty good, had a good laugh when I read it. No offence taken at all.. Planning to do that as I thought it would be handier to fix the cab frame and mudgaurds off the tractor and as you mentioned I'd get to see what the fuel tank is like on either side, had to spray the skid unit first though so I can bolt on the dash which is currently being held in place by the cab, don't want to remove it completley as I dont think it will go back on too handy if I do.

Good man, I'd be happier if you had Axle stands under that tractor.
I asked your man had he as it would be safer and it wouldn't cover up under the front axle like the timber be he had given the loan of them to someone else so I just made do with them. Might buy myself a set of axle stands. Any good recommendations or makes.

I have never thought to break the bead when spray painting rims. It's a good idea and makes masking the sides easier.
Yeah. Let's you paint the edges of the rims too which I theory should stop rust from washing off the edges of the rim onto the centre and make the tyres look a bit better.

I must correct myself from earlier too, it's not quite standard cling film, it's stuff used for wrapping pallets, I can't remember yourmans name that he gets it from but I'll get it tommorow. Used vapormatic standard tractor paint for it and I must say I was impressed with the Finnish.

Thinking of accepting this massey as part exchange in a deal. Has a few mechanical problems which I can fix. The one unfortunate thing was 40 years ago someone put a roll bar in and drilled 2 holes in the roof of the cab to do it. Would anyone no anywhere where I might get a replacement roof or get one made for it.Snapchat-1317251431.jpg

Yes. Have some fibreglass body filler which I bought by accident a while ago. I dont know would that do it?
I don't know but it should be possible, there is bound to be someone nearby that would have done it before and would know, is there anyone locally that repairs cars

Know a man that does but I dont know does he do any of the newer yolks, mainly specialises in the older cars doing sills, chasis and bodywork repairs. Seen a crowd in Eniscorthy that fabricate steel parts for cabs, might see would they be able to do anything. I'd do it myself if it wasn't for the 2 big holes from the roll bar.

Thin out the roof around the holes and blend in the new material.
