Ah I’m sick of looking at it and other stuff around the place. Time for a clear out.You know what they say about one man's scrap.............. I know lads who would build a spaceship out of that........

@MF30 i checked those railway lines. They’re 5” at the wide side. Heavy lads to handle.

No problem. If anyone wants them at €50 a pop. I’m in east cork. Scrap lorry expected to come next week. What's your Eircode ? Be there with after dinner tomorrow, with a trailer and a bundle of 50s 😆
More luck to them if they do!They won't go to waste anyway, they'll separate them at the yard and sell them on again,
You better be there when they come to collect or else hide the fendt for peace of mind........
They do look wider than the ones I put up, too far away to measure them now but there’s a 5ft offcut here that I’ll measure tomorrow out of curiosity. Wonder why they were available in different widths and profiles? You’d imagine they should all be identical.@MF30 i checked those railway lines. They’re 5” at the wide side. Heavy lads to handle.

There is a round roof shed at home built in the mid 60s, The trusses are rail line ,we think they came from Nenagh station but they were brought to somewhere in Limerick to be curved. There are other lengths of rail line which we think came from the closed Roscrea Birr line , these have an unusual n shape
I often wondered how the hell they bent them.Local old railway gate post shaped from a rail track itself

I heard €200 is being given and I would trust the source.Have a good bit of heavy scrap gathered up. Been ringing a few places ranging from €150 - €170 a ton
They told bring it in, and we'll look after you. Look after me alright 😤I heard €200 is being given and I would trust the source.
Just to put the icing on the cake the €200 a ton was collected..They told bring it in, and we'll look after you. Look after me alright 😤

Easy sort them lads out , tell them you will meet them at a certain weighbridge , Weigh then go load up and do the same on the way back , no messing then . If they want the scrap they will do it no problemEasy give 200 for it " Collected ".
It would weigh a ton more , and maybe 2 , if you took it yourself.
I would find this a good rough guide, the prices are in sterling, for example it says batteries are 480stg a ton, you might get around 460-480 euro a ton. What is scrap at now? I have a small bit of copper too if anyone has a price on that.
Think bright copper ( stripped copper) is somewhere about 7 euro a kilo.ie 7k a ton. Can get you exact price tomorrow .What is scrap at now? I have a small bit of copper too if anyone has a price on that.
