so you reckon the buyer will cut it down to a more manouverable length and move the axle.
No.
It would have been an feasible job to replace the back door with a normal tripper - if it was a shorter trailer. But the length of it means that there is a very limited market for it here. Scrap or export.

To move it, you would need a permit 🤣.

There was a lad in video’ed at the meat factory in Rathdowney, with what looked like something well over 40ft behind the tractor, same man is on Tictok with his daughter regularly

Ive been talking to that man at various tractor gatherings . Grand man . I find her hard to watch though.

How illegal is a dolly nowadays to pull behind a tractor, say a double axle one and the hook on a trailer that is within legal limits

There are loads of fixed axle dollys on the continent behind tractors

I assume going by this it should really be legal but convincing pc plod on the side of the road could be a problem

My understanding is a trailer with integrated dolly axle has always been legal. But a standalone dolly is not because it is two trailers.

But 2 trailers aren’t illegal? Broughan and Smyth and Wilson draw them down 1 behind the other to cork and other places.
I think, and could be wrong that there’s some stupid thing that it’s legal to tow 2 empty, or else one loaded and one empty but it must be the front one that is loaded so I guess the dolly falls foul of that if they class it as 2 trailers. That may well be an English thing though but I think that’s why lads towing a spreader and loader on a low loader always put the loader and low loader first and pulled the empty spreader behind

Tbh you'd be better off with the middle trailer having weight. Accident waiting to happen otherwise

Whenever I think metal disease has been cured, things like that appear.
Don't know would that do it for me, I'd prefer a Vaderstad Carrier or Lemken Helidor, I bought a 4m Helidor a few years ago extremely happy with it, thats a lot of extra weight more or less built around a simple roller frame, on the hitch as opposed to arms and I wouldn't like those small 6 stud axle/wheel. The Lemken has a big 8 stud axle with decent brakes.

Oh definitely, it’s a tail wagging the dog situation, but my point is more that plod on the side of the road wouldn’t be able to differentiate between the likes of that scenario and a dolly and trailer

Fair points all round. We did all the cultivation before the one pass with the 6m cross roller with 2 rows of tines, 1 run was often not enough and 2 made it too fine. Also that would be good enough for discing stubble and cover crops, obviously not as intensive as the others you mentioned.

Ya the set of discs with paddles do a super job, one run of the Helidor in front of a power harrow leaves a lovely job. Two other things I'd have against that is would it be a bit of a pig of a yolk for regular rolling with all that weight and for sowing cover crops would you be a bit restricted speed wise with Cambridge rings, they would hardly like hitting stones at 12+k into firm ground.

We have a horsch mounted disc that does a great job, be a better job trailed with paddles of course. Incidentally ive noticed that the barley is slightly better looking where the wheels of the roller tractor went, but thats only this year. Yea 10k would be the max speed with the roller for any job, the disc is as fast as ye can stay in the seat.

Would it be a bit much for the 3000?
Mount the 3000 on it for more ballast.
