Would a brand new one be much more?

Herbst would surely be comparable for quality?
€9450 for a sparky new delivered

€11,600 or so unless vat registered, still less than the Chieftain
My bad I forgot to add on the vat but still cheaper. Only thing I couldn’t work out was if the chieftain was on springs but I’m pretty certain it’s also on bogies. I don’t know at that age but chieftains used to have a tendency to do the splits if I’m not mistaken?

Herbst had a better name than chieftain for quality.
Chieftain were a bit like Fleming in ways, built for a price.
I saw a drawbar of a chieftain snap and it was way too light for the job

only issue with the herbst but is probably not a deal breaker is the single ram on the door?

Any thoughts on build quality or is it like everything, you get what you pay for? Some people on here seem to be getting on well with some of the economy brand disc harrows
I would be worried about the breakout force of the Pigtail . I have used Horsch since 2004 and I think the Trra Grip tine has a Breakout of 500Kg .When it trips the force drops to 150Kg .

Thanks for that, it would be the most important consideration
