Going selling my simba express .
Very good condition , New discs over the winter and new dd packer last summer, all bearings on the dd packer were replaced also. Hubs and bearings on the discs are all very good. Requires at least 150hp but 170 will handle it no problem. Works very well in all conditions.Adjustable disc angle is a real benefit on it, it is a very good heavy disc and works well in both stubbles and ley. Reason for the sale is tractor hp has increased and I’m hoping to go bigger and also a machine with leveling boards.

What kind of work does it do in burned off ley?
Works very well , 4 week burn 3 runs can have it in powder, if it’s hairy or a bad kill 4 runs sorts it . Real benefits of it is it’s weight , set the discs to work whatever way you want and they will do exactly that, none of the bouncing you get with lighter discs .

How heavy is it? I presume you're mostly on reasonably flat ground with 170hp?

Going to say around 5500 kg , did weight it one time and I think it was around that .170 will handle it on hills but of course the steeper you go the more you need !!! One thing about it is even if you are going slow the discs are working because of its weight and being able to angle the discs to suit conditions, it’s only the finishing runs where you need the speed and it’s easier pull it then as you are only running shallow to get the nice finish on top, it’s only downfall like any heavy disc is wet clay , that will stop it dead but it would want to be very wet and if it is stopping it from working you shouldn’t be working!!!

The wheels and folding frame must add a lot to it(and I wouldn’t be surprised by that at all, those wheels alone must weigh a fair chunk)! The 3.5m fixed mounted was 2200kg

does it pull up stones, someone told me disk harrows were masters at unearthing stones

I ploughed a stoney field this spring and tilled it with the disk and I thought that it did lovely work and didnt bring many stones. The last time it was ploughed it was grubbed to level it and it was infested with stones after it.

We've had reseeding done with one and would be bloody stony. Brings up a fraction of the stones of the plough and levels lovely too
