Some craic for the dairy farmer now

Probably worthy of a thread of it's own.personally I believe the cow to be "gods greatest gift to man " (aside from eve)

Well they better keep milking her for another while yet, as there's a few lads who developed heavy metal disease ,BIG time, since quotas went.

Say what ye like, but the cow is still the most attractive girl in town and that isn’t going to change for the next century. Many girls still putting €10 a day into the tank.

As a comparison the majority of beef animals are topping out at €2 a day.

I’m jealous, even in a crap price year

Big difference between into the tank and into the bank at the end of the year.

nitrate statement for up to end of august online, wasn't paying much need during the year , got a bit of a wake up call when I checked

I wish I had some of them cows 25 litres of high solids in late September 🤔🤔
Try €6 a day, good output for spring calvers at current price at this time of the year.

No labour cost with beef

Had you to hire in many lads to replace you when you were away for the weekend

Working out at about 5 hrs per animal, sold off the farm. Jasus that sounds horrendously labour inefficient 🤔.

But if you spent a minute per animal per day tending to them, which isn’t allot, that’s 6 hours per year🤔

2 souls on duty for the weekend, 1 will be like a parrot about all the work that he done while I was away 🤣
