The reseeding thread

Here’s the field I convinced myself I left the tramlines on in last September

Seeds put in on April 28th along with lime and 3cwt of 10-10-20.
A woeful month of may for growth and a plague of rabbits have it goosed I think.
Spread 30units of compound on it Saturday in the hope that we get a burst of growth to get it going.
Revisiting this nearly two months later, sprayed today with Envy there’s a bit of grass in amongst all the other weeds and shit.
The rabbits are keeping it well trimmed with no proper burst of growth to get the grass going.

I think grass seed got such a stunting this year, even in ideal growing conditions its struggling. Been a very poor spring for seeding

I’ve seen a few more bits put in around the same time and while not as poor as mine they are their well behind where they should be.
We haven’t got a decent weeks growth here yet.

sprayed off a field with gallop there about a week ago, a bit disappointed, its like its half burnt but still see bits of color, used 4 L per 400 so thought that would be plenty strong enough, maybe its needs another week to completely turn?

It should take the most of the 2 weeks to fully burn. My understanding and experience is the faster it burns the less penetration to the root. If you spray too strong you burn the foliage and it doesn't absorb fully.

4 per 400 is 1 per 100 and you prob put out 70-80 litres per acre of water so that’s only about 1.3/1.4 litres per acre, your far too low, you need 2.25 -2.4 litres per acre. Give it time tho a week is not long

4ltr per ha is fine but the Ph of the water needs to be correct. The lower you can drop it the better. I had 3 paddocks to spray totalling 11ac. Ran short with an acre to do. So went and made up enough for an acre. First 10ac the ph was about 3, the single ac was 4.5. Same rate Glyphosate, the kill on the first 10ac was twice as effective than the kill on one acre.

I have a bit of ground sprayed off. It's "challenging" land. About 12" plus, of peat over solid channel subsoil .I'm looking for advice on suitable grass seed. I have used heavy land mixes in the past, but I'm not impressed. I'm inclined to go with a single variety .
Willing to try anything.

Probably the worst land in Ireland, but it's important to me because I can graze milkers on it.
Mini till, 2 runs of power harrow, seed with vicon, 10 10 20 , gran lime, and rolled with empty grassland roller. Only got stuck once 🤗😅
Sowed 19th June (3 weeks tmro) Used Tipperary no.3
local rep selling it.
It's doing well.

I have a bit if ground to reseed. The cows have just gone out of it this evening. Would it be ok to spray it tomorrow or would I need to leave it a few days to come back a bit, to get maximum uptake of the spray
