He produced beet compound for the sugar company a long time ago before it became Irish Sugar or Greencore and was known as Coras Suicre Eireann Teo. I remember being sent to collect beet compound and being told to make sure it wasn’t Coakleys as that was all lumps.
l don't have much to do with the beet crop these days, but still get asked to do spraying.

You're half right.
lt is 12m but a 1500l tank.
Bought it in from UK about 20 years ago. Used to do a couple of thousand acres/yr but went into beet only mode when l got the trailed 24m in 2010.
Just one pump overhaul and a few sets of nozzles is all its cost in that time.
