We’ve a cast iron 750mm water main through our farm and it was laid in the 1880s,as we’re the lowest point in the line the pipes are thicker here,2.5” thick and each pipe is 15’ long, they weigh in excess of 4t each which in itself moving them was some feat 🏆never mind when they drop off the edge of our hill they drilled the collars and bolted them in situ, feck you’d struggle nowadays never mind 140 years ago.Weren't our forefathers great fellas, no power tools and that is about 5ins through.View attachment 92805
How did you get that in the slurry tank?
Good question. I asked my husband that, he said it's been in it years. It's out nowHow did you get that in the slurry tank?
That's a wrist breaker if I ever saw one!Electric down on one phase yesterday afternoon, rang electric company only to spend 25minutes clarifying my name umpteen times “no we haven’t any problems on the line” funny because while on the phone the men in yellow jackets were climbing over the gate to the transformer.
Had to get the 70 year old genny going, hand start keeps you fit.🏃🏻

Only way I can start it is if someone flicks the decompression once I get it spinning, the last owner broke the starting handle trip mechanism,on the sixth revolution it was supposed to trip the decompression lever.Fine old girl genny there. Would it be possible to fit a pto ànd freewheel clutch to where the starting handle is? Might make things easier to use a tractor to start it than yourself. But it mustnt of been too hard to start since your still wearing your cap!!!!
