Tractor brochures

That’s really interesting to see the price list.

Take the 8560 at £53450 punts. That was the price of a decent house back in 1999. Tractor much cheaper than a house now. I know sone may say that it an unfair comparison and talk about farming input costs etc amd I know they are right …. But an interesting comparison all the same.

At the other end of the scale the compact tractors were pricey even back then looks like about £19k which seems a big ball of money… I bought a new “red I” Passat in 1997 amd it cost about that with no trade in.
That 53450 is €67865 in euro, and using the CSO inflation tool is equal to €111,487 today

Interesting to see that the TS110 was the same price as a 115 (or marginally dearer), and I didnt realise that a TS90 was only available in Dual power, or maybe that was only the case for the Irish market

Can I ask how old is the roller?
You can, but I will have to guess, about 20 years old, my late Uncle bought it, and it didn't do a big area for many years, he had 8 acres of beet and 20 acres of barley back then. I can check the plate the next day I am looking at it, if you need a year.

Checked at home this eve, any machine the father bought new he has a brochure for
That is a fair collection of brochures. I have a few of the earlier ones in my own collection too, plus the first release brochures for the MF 300 and 3000 series models.
Were there any memorable MF models that your father bought over the years, for good or bad reasons?

Me too and also machinery brochures - have nearly 5000 now.
Wow that is some collection. You must be collecting them for a good few years.
I have a bit of a collection myself from the early 1980's to the late 1990's/early 00's.
Have you any favourite brochures from your collection?

My interest has waned in the last few years but still gather a few. Most manufacturers now are digital so that ends newer stuff.

My favourites are probably the set of Fritzmeir cab versions for the Ford 600 series. I also have a large number of Aktiv combine brochures and Ransomes machinery which are the more vintage ones as well a MF square baler brochure from the early 60s.

I would be a bit Ike yourself, I don't have too much interest in the newer stuff, as you say, it is all gone digital and very large in scale/size.
Have you any brochures for the Aktiv 800 and 1000 combine harvesters. My late grandfather had a new 800 followed by a new 1000. I have some of the paperwork for the two of them, including their price at the time. I must dig out their details later. I think that the 800 was new in 1964 and the 1000 was new in 1966/67.
Have you any KP (Kilkenny Products) brochures? I have one for their later, smaller trailers. It is probably one of my own favourites plus a bundle of CAT brochures which came from the States in 1987/88, which included a number of brochures for the newly launched at the time, CAT Challenger tractor.
Is your old MF square baler brochure for the MF 10/15/20 square balers? My late grandfather had a few MF balers over the years, including in later years, an MF 127. I still have the receipt for it as well.

Can I pick your brains, as I know you are a classic Ford tractor man. I have this brochure in my collection since the mid 1980's. It is for the Ford 3910. It is pictured with a basic cab, which I suspect is from an Irish manufacturer, but I don't have any more details after that. Would you be any chance have any knowledge of that particular cab?

Have that brochure myself
Back in the day, I think that they used those brochures as stocking fillers at shows, to hand out to the droves of school kids who descended upon the stands, looking for brochures. They are now a unique piece of history, especially with the Henry Ford & Sons Irish reference printed on them.
