tidy darts:Thumbp2::Thumbp2:Apologies if you’re sick of my photos. Hopefully the next one will be the press in use.
Just need to get some new cleaning chains and re rivet the serial plate back on.
We’ve gone from 67” to 100” so a 50% increase in working width if we run at 5 x 20” sods. Should give us a good output in a day.
Plough away steady, not overly fast but yet achieve a good fine firm soil profile while yet getting through acres.

I’ll probably move it the longer distances on the road with the rear linkage of the tractor but I’ll move it short distances with the front weight frame (has a hook made from 1” plate that picks it up by the presses 3 point links)tidy darts:Thumbp2::Thumbp2:
when moving or ploughing, weight in the loader bucket and move it on front links?
Tidy job lad, are you back travelling with work or are you still mostly locked down?
Only in the office a day a week and not going anywhere else.
It's great the time it gives you in the evenings for getting jobs like that or the grab done isnt it?

Nice work Cork, there weren't too many of those in this country to copy from. Fair bit of work involved fitting that.Last piece of the jigsaw arrived yesterday, a new press arm. Not cheap but the correct used one is as rare as a unicorn. The new ones have a spring shock absorber built in which should be no harm.
I didn’t trust our old arm with the heavier press.
A bit of spanner work involved in fitting it but it went fine. The bit that worried me most was fitting a 5th hose through the centre of the headstock but it got through.
Just need some good conditions now to set it up.
One of the plates on the front furrow rail had a crack so we replaced that too. I’ll touch up the bare metal bits with paint when I have a chance.

Thanks, it’ll be a case of “don’t call me, I’ll call you” as it’ll probably look a right mess until I get everything set up!!!!:eek3:I've been following this with interest.
